I underestimated how thin the rest of my league is st WR, so I got both Malcolm Brown and Hines off waivers. I plan to stash both.

Corey Davis remains at WR. I’m thinking of dropping Justin Jefferson for him because Davis is in a contract year. It seems like Minnesota will throw a lot more than Tennessee though.

    Thoughts?

Tough call on this but Davis just produced and Jefferson didn't. The WR learning curve to the NFL can be brutal even for good receivers as rookies. I'd be tempted by Davis unless it's a keeper league, I think he's going to benefit from getting #2 corners this year. I can just see Jefferson's ceiling being the type of game Davis already had on Monday night.

Maybe, but FWIW, Tannehill threw 18 more times than Cousins last week. Cousins somehow only threw 25 times, and that's including garbage time when they were getting smoked. I picked up Davis FWIW. He looked really good in some highlights, but I'm still doubtful he'll be worth much this year.

*Edit, just noticed that Cousins passed for more yards and was a good bit more efficient, which explains it.

That's frustrating and we're getting close to that in our league unfortunately. A few guys definitely got taken advantage of early on which has led them to them being extremely cautious and overvaluing everything (guy with Taylor in this scenario). Then there’s the guy that throws out stupid shit nonstop which makes things even worse.

In the league bertwing is speaking of, I spent all of my allowance. Why? Because over the years of doing this, other than substantial injuries, most 1 and 2 running backs are already rostered. Within the first 2-3 weeks of play are the players worth spending the money on in waivers. After looking at my current roster, it made since to hopefully get a good rb with my waiver allowance, there *probably* won’t be another chance for a “starter/co-starter” running back that will be available. My team is pretty stout and now, I have in what I hope is a good bench runningback I can plug in when needed.

I dropped half my FAAB budget to get both Hines and Snell. I have Conner, so getting Snell was a necessity imo. I think whoever plays between those two will put up good numbers this season. They might split work some, but I'm fine with having both on my roster. Hines was a replacement for Tevin Coleman on my roster. He's going to be putting up flex numbers all season, so I'm fine holding onto him.

I probably WAY overpaid for those two, but I honestly don't care. I see them as being on my roster all season and being useful all season (either as a handcuff or a RB2/FLEX starter).

Now I have a good stable of RBs and pretty much nothing at WR.

    RB:
    Kamara
    Derrick Henry
    James Conner
    Tay Murray
    Blake Snell
    Nyheim Hines

    WR:
    TY Hilton
    Emmanuel Sanders
    Deebo Samuel
    Curtis Samuel
    Anthony Miller

I'm going to need to drop either Miller or Curtis Samuel though to pick up a defense this week. I'm guessing Curtis Samuel is getting the chop.

I basically punted on TE during my draft but targeted Jarwin. A bunch of teams have 2 TEs so the WW is thin. Best options look like:

    Graham
    Olsen
    Ebron
    Logan Thomas
    OJ Howard

I'm thinking Thomas because of the 8 targets. Yay/nay?

    McLaurin at Arizona

    Lockett vs NE

    Brown no question

Edit: just saw pick 2 - Edelman.

Brown seems like a start every week and Bills offense is going to score a lot of points this year.

Edelman is going to struggle with Cam throwing him the ball he’ll be a safe bet with a lot of volume. Seahawks were not strong against ATLs passing game last week.

Grinded over Hines and Brown for days and then Snell’s Monday night clouded things even further.

Being 7th in line and faced with the reality that Jarwin is gone for the year and Gesicki is my only healthy TE, I went with Goedert first and ended up with Kelley as my last waiver priority.

Overall pretty at peace with the way things turned out. The Rams would prefer that Akers is the guy and odds are he will be at some point as impressive as Brown’s first week was. Taylor being QB means less dump offs for Ekeler and Kelley is getting all of the goal line carries.

Just hoping Robinson for the Jags or Kelley becomes worthwhile but seems like a safe upgrade at TE with a high ceiling so i’ll take it. I’m curious go see how Logan Thomas does this weekend. Friendly matchup this week and a lot of targets in week 1.

Makes sense to me. I'm already pretty invested in Akers so I didn't get too aggressive on Brown, and haven't had any injuries really so idk if I'd be starting Snell or Hines right away, didn't get too aggressive there either. Tried to scoop up some cheap Gaskins/Kellys/Logan Thomases after FAAB ran for my opponents ...

I think Akers slowly takes the carries.

As long as Connor is out I would start Snell and feel pretty good about it. Hines seems kind of boom or bust and won’t get any goal line work.

I bought the hype last year. He’s the type of guy that will have 2-3 good games a year and it’s probably going to happen when you bench him.

    Miller is a stud.

He has top end speed, but wasn’t really a deep threat in college. Most of his receiving yards in college were short passes with yards after catch.

He’s really good on the quick pass, which could play well to Rivers. I have TY Hilton, but didn’t start Hilton last week. I want to see how Rivers settles in with the WR crew.

OSU ran a lot of jet sweep and shovel pass end arounds with him, He did not run last year, but went 1/9 last week. Would be interested to see if Indy could run him more.

Really want to work Logan Thomas in to the line up this week in my other deep league.

He would have to replace one of Jamison Crowder, Tyler Higbee, Anthony Miller, Mike Williams, Chris Carson or Melvin Gordon to make it happen and I can’t quite justify it.

I learned long ago not to try to be “too cute” overthinking it so i’m leaning against it even though week 1 was promising and he has an amazing match up.

It’s a 2 QB league as well. Also struggling with the decision to start Minshew or Burrow. A big part of me thinks Burrow takes a big step this week and the Browns are obviously not good - plus being from Ohio this game may mean something for him.

Would gladly accept any opinions on that.

I’m still waiting for Hurst to string some games together before I consider him in the league of a guy like Goedart. Week 1 went very poorly.

Saw a funny quote in a fantasy football article I read this week. I’ll paraphrase: the falcons in week 1 showed their target priority was Ridley > Jones > Gage > the ground > then Hurst.

Adams was all over the place. Hurst had 5 targets in a shootout game the Falcons were playing catch up in pretty early.

Goedert was TE1 last week and saw 9 targets. Still no WR there. He has a history of good, pretty consistent play. Saw a stat this week that since their bye week 10 last year he and Ertz’s production was compared - Goedert had 2 less targets/7 more catches/109 more yards/2 less TD to put a larger sample size in to perspective.

Could be wrong, but seems like an easy decision. As always with fantasy, could be wrong.
