He’s out qualified Kimi, he’s generally had great starts to races. The Alfa is just a garbage car with a garbage engine. I don’t think Gio is a world title caliber driver but let’s be honest you may only have a handful of the 20 drivers
He's also the Ferrari reserve driver, so in Ferrari's eyes if they ever need him he'd be much more experienced. It was hitting by Buxton and Lawrence Barretto that Ferrari thinks that Haas is a better fit for Mick. This Perez isn't likeable thing is interesting to me. Everything I've read about him in regards to the Force India thing basically said that if he hadn't stepped in, the team woulda folded, and everyone would have lost their jobs. He didn't have to do that. He coulda easily got a drive somewhere else, which is why I think he was so bummed with Racing Point pushed him out after doing so much work to get that team out from under Mallya (speaking of him, there's a cool netflix about him called the "Bad Boy Billionaires of India" )
He’s saved two teams from folding... might help save a 3rd. I don’t find him unlikeable I also think he’s a pretty good driver.
Thought you were referencing the qualification since that was the next event. Ok...on to tomorrow then!
Curious how balls to the wall Lewis and Max go into that first corner. Because this race is going to be the classic bore fest and follow the leader event.
I know plenty of people have said this already, but it is so awesome to be revisiting these tracks that I remember from when I was a kid, teenager, and then college student. it really is getting back to roots. If only the car formula was a little bit more interesting right now. The cars are so damn big that you can't do anything.
Having Perez pit during the safety car was such a tough call. He’s in 3rd on old tires and out of no where Russell pulls a Grosjean. Still think you got to hold onto position there.
The track wasn’t allowing any passing. I think the call to pit him was terrible. Everyone was saying all weekend this was going to be a follow the leader race and it proved to be accurate. 50 some laps in you need to keep him out.
didn't kimi last like 40 laps in his tires and was in 4th or something when he pitted? pitting there was idiotic unless there was a sensor that the tires would blow
That was after Max’s rear left blew right? Maybe they thought there was a chance their was a repeat of Silverstone where everyone started dropping like flies? Still it’s tough on Checo. I think he’s got the short end of the straw from RP a lot lately. Ps. I know it’s daddy’s team, but Lance Stroll has been pretty awful lately
Yeah, he and Seb both did 40 plus on the medium tires and basically pitted because they had to according to the regulations. Kimi got a bit unlucky because had he waited a few more laps he could’ve come in under yellow and probably finish on the podium
In all seriousness. He is by far my least favorite person on the grid. Top 3 most disliked: 1.Stroll 2.Ocon 3. Cant even come up with a third, but it I had to Roman. Just cause I feel like he complains a lot
legit cannot believe he didn't come out after that and make a statement about that fuckup. you could literally kill someone doing that. - talking about the pit crew
I think him being the definition of privilege and then doing shit like getting Covid and lying about it, nearly killing a pit crew member and being so cold and callus in reaction to it. I never feel bad when he has bad luck.
I find this now public game of cat and mouse between Mercedes and Lewis pretty interesting. Seems like Lewis will only sign for as long as Wolf is at Mercedes and Mercedes wants to lock him up to a longer term.
It's odd that they wouldn't let him do a year by year deal if that's what he wanted. Then again, he can always retire if he's under contract. They probably don't want him to go suit up for Ferrari for the hell of it in 2022.
They don’t want to do year to year because ultimately they want to move on from Wolf and keep Lewis. And Lewis isn’t having it. The last thing they want to do is move on from Wolf and lose Lewis to either Ferrari (never see him ever going to Ferrari) or the next top tier team like McLaren.
Im not sure they will be coming to North or South American in 2021 so they need to fill 20-21 races without doing the double race weekends
this news makes me sad because I was making tenative plans to go to COTAS next year. Would be my one shot to see the Honda RA620H and (possibly) Lewis Hamilton race in person.
