That's awesome. I started watching F1 in 94/95 I was just a small kid at that point.
I think 94 was the last season of pre-qualy? Since then, there hasn't been enough cars.
I never bought that they would not race at Silverstone but good to see nonetheless.
This is really good
This Haas/Rich Energy drama is so bizarre
Definitely got to try the Brawn out on Xbox later.
Rich dropping Haas because of bad results and finishing behind Williams was just next level trolling
Well now they are trying to patch it back up and will be in the car at Silverstone. They are pulling the my Twitter was hacked line.
Hope Netflix had a camera on Geunther this week
Does anyone think that the forthcoming rule changes (2021?) and $ cap will result in more teams or at least more parity again?
It will be 2024 by the time they decide the 2021 rule changes.
That’s deeper than I thought. What a glorious clusterfuck
I would be shocked if Roman has a seat next year. Everyone at Haas should be fired if he returned for the 2020 season.
It would be smart for them to take Ocon on loan if Merc decides they want one more year of Bottas
That would be amazing for Haas because the kid is to talented not to have a ride. But a Mercedes driver with a ferrari engine?... I have a hard time seeing it happen.
I could see Mick Shumacker at Alpha next season. He and Kimi as a pair would hit all types of feel spots for me.
Alonso coming back to Renault might move Hulkenberg to Haas.
Either way silly season should be fun.
I would imagine Max is the big fish. What he does will then set off what Seb and Bottas will do.
Bottas to me isn't long for Mercedes. I think Ocon is in that seat next year.
Toto is also his manager (I think) so he has to get him a ride one way or another. Haas may be the one that would take him for a year with strings attached. That's why he didn't get a seat last year, Torro Rosso only wanted him if he was freed from any obligation to Mercedes.
Alonso at Renault would be a disaster.
Anyone get the video game? Pretty fun. And graphics are insane
Picked up 18 a couple months back and I like it more than forza now.
2019 version just came out. Started it yesterday
I have the 2019 version and the graphics are insane. The game has so much detail when setting up the cars its very complicated if you want to get true to life. I only briefly started a career mode thus far and got a ride with Haas (you can pick any team in the game) and i'm in FP2 doing testing so I can unlock some developmental points so I can upgrade parts of my car. Really good game that is time consuming. I don't think i'll do a full race looking to do 50% of the race
That was a fantastic Q3.
Should lead to a fun race. Not sure what the hell Ferrari is doing on the soft to start the race.
Seb is so lifeless. At this point he’s going to go down as one of the most disappointing drivers in a Ferrari
Even when Alonso didn’t have things go his way in a sub par car he showed fire and fight.
Seb has tapped out.
Would Ferrari take Alonso back if Seb retired? Or have bridges been burned. Seems like many of the people involved have turned over
Makes me sad. Seb has been the only driver I’ve ever really followed. :(
That’s a tough call because Alonso has always been popular with the fan base. But I think most in Italy have really taken to Charles as the future much like Red Bull followers have taken to Max. I think they believe those two are going to be battling for titles down the road
I thought the rumors of him retiring was bullshit and contract posturing. But I legit think his fire is gone.
Just got back from an awesome day at the qualifiers yesterday, courtesy of the Renault team. Had unbelievable access all day, sat in a trailer having lunch with Ricciardo and Hulkenburg. Also had pics with Will.I.Am, Jenson Button, Jackie Stewart and more.
Wtf was that Seb?
We've come a long way since last year's cool down lap of Seb gloating about winning their home race on the radio.
Very jealous of you. That's awesome...even if it was Renault.
So the race....wtf Haas. Just a shit show.
I think the narrative that Bottas got unlucky losing due to the safety car is a bit off. Even without the safety car I don't think there is any way he holds off Lewis for the whole race. Bottas wore out his tires in the first stint which took a 1 stop option off the table.
Ferrari's tactics and strategy are just off this year. Add to it that Vettel has shown a lack of focus at times. On replay, it looked to me that he hit Max on purpose. I'm sure it's frustration based in that he seems a bit checked out. There is no way that LeClerc is a better driver than he is currently. He just doesn't have the edge this year it seems.
Also, I haven't seen a Ferrari stop under 2.8ish seconds this season. To be fair, I haven't been able to watch every race start to finish. Still, losing .3 to .4 seconds on a stop to Red Bull and Mercedes is crushing. Especially in a race with a 2 stop strategy.
Red Bull set a record with a 1.90 stop
Oddly enough Williams usually has the fastest stops every race.
Amazing. I remember when they set the old record at 2.3.
Its been rumored they may attempt to bring back refueling.
I'm conflicted on the idea because we can start to see cars hopefully push more, more stops, maybe more mistakes in the pit lane.
But I think you add a very dangerous element back when dealing with fuel.
I don't think Charles is that much slower than Vettel. I think its 6-4 when it comes to qualifying. Charles also had a few mental blunders like Monaco this year where he was faster than Seb in FP and Q1 and Q2. That number could be flipped in Charles favor easily. I think the speed is there with Charles and he's working the B car.
Ferrari has been the third fastest pit crew to this point of the season. Redbull is dominating with Williams in second. Mercedes is actually a distant 5th. Ferrari just makes the worst calls in race about when to pit and who to pit and tire allocation and just about everything. It has to be disheartening not only for Seb but also Charles to know the team is going to cost you time because of bad race day calls.
Charles was going to finish 5th and lose his 3rd place result he so rightfully earned by battling Max if it wasn't for Seb's stupid mistake. You can hear Charles going off on radio about the bad call. Big changes are needed at Ferrari. Binotto seems to not be cut out for this. Italian media is killing him after each race.
You mean like from an accidents standpoint?
I'm for anything that would potentially create more drama, issues, position changes, etc...
yeah with fueling accidents. Fires in the pit lane.
It definitely looked like Seb hit Max on purpose.
Ferrari is a dumpster fire.
I’m out on bringing back refueling.
Very cool Taffy.
Yeah I can't see them pealing back something that was perceived as an advancement in safety and technology.
NASCAR seems to do it without major issues
Last week Albon was planning on a two stop strategy. He was told he couldn't come in because the sensors on the car picked up that the car may be a live electric charge and they couldn't risk anyone touching the car until it was turned off safely.
Would 99% of the refueling stops go fine? Yes probably but there is that one percent chance something goes bad and when you already have advanced and eliminated it there is no way they go backwards.
Got this yesterday. It's fun with amazing graphics, but hard.
