Feels like he's always been pulled early. In his CY year, he had like 2 2h starts that went over 6 innings iirc. Barely avg'd 6 innings per start for the year.
that’s a really stupid idea if he gets shelled considering he’s a really good prospect and it could kill his confidence completely
Rays can’t hit and look on the verge of giving up. Meanwhile, Astros seem to be having fun. Can’t we have one nice thing?
Sucks to see bc i really likes watching him play and rooting for from the last few years. But yeah, he sucks and it’s weird that they’re struggling so much that he’s they’re best option at that spot tonight
he does suck so bad. they tried to load up as many righties as possible (renfroe hit a huge grand slam in the wild card), and just no Rays can hit.
valdez is nowhere near the point where R/L splits become predictive. I'd never play Renfroe on purpose but that's what they were doing.
None of this matters. The season is covid invalid and your Washington nationals are your world champs until next year. It's math.
One positive should the dodgers lose tonight. They’ll end the year as the only team that didn’t lose 3 straight all season. So that’s good
And I don’t even think it’s bc hea going up against a struggling lineup. If he were facing this braves offense, I feel like he’s still be having a great game. Just painting corners
Wow, pretty crazy that it comes down to this and the Astros will be facing Uncle Charlie Morton, one of my favorite guys from the 2017 WS team and the one who got away (many of us were pissed that they didn't at least make the QO). I know he's still tight with a lot of the guys on the current team, Bregman in particular who's now 1 for his last 21 (and 3 for 24 overall in the series, all singles).
Bregman has been absolute shit. He has to step it up tomorrow as well as everyone else if we want to win game 7. Morton will be throwing fire tomorrow and we gotta match that
And Gurriel has been rough, too--just 2 for 17 this series and 4 for 38 in the playoffs (all singles), with 1 RBI
This game obviously isn’t going to end 2-1. So who’s bullpen cracks/whose offense breaks out first? History of the series says it’ll be Atlanta who breaks out, but my mind can’t yet get around LAD losing in 5. At least not *this* LAD team
One thing I didn’t miss about not having fans at games: fans booing after a pitcher throws to first on a pickoff attempt. I despise anyone that does that and I hope they get COVID-19 (but recover, I guess)
