Sneaky amazing news. Lindor and Gimenez up the middle
Better hope you don’t get last year’s Lindor.
i was told money is no concern to cohen so a measly $24m off the books shouldnt change anything whatsoever for his spending. was i misled
I don’t know what this means, but i know it is stupid.
lots of guys did not have their normal performance in the shortened season. Lindor has been amazing for half a decade. No one is scared about his 2020 stats being the new norm.
Just glad to wash the Yankees roid culture out of the organization, no place for that in the game
Mets really made out in that trade.
I think so. They just don't have to pay it.
I'm not sure how it works with Seattle in terms of the $$ they're sending the Mets ($3.75M). I don't know if that money is supposed to go directly to Cano or if they still have to send that to NY.
you can't swing a dead cat without hitting a yankees PED cheater i swear
Stick with me here Bro...pay attention now...it means for the money Lindor is going to get, whoever signs him should hope he plays like he did the previous few years and not last year.
This makes me think of a Cabrera sucking like he has the last few years and in line to make absurd money the next three. It sucks that he's just an awful contract they're going to have to keep trotting out there, but I think it would crush me after watching him all these years if he got busted for PEDs trying to still be good and it cost him the HOF. I would rather he just sucked for three more seasons than have that happen.
No one is afraid of that
And I understand these guys are highly competitive and have pride in their games. But I just can't understand risking $20M+ at the end of your career like this. That's crazy. Just suck your way through the contract and cash them checks.
I think we hold onto McNeil and just grab a true 3B
Kris Bryant COME ON DOWWWWWN.
Nolan Arenado COME ON D..... uh, you get the point.
So one of them, Springer, Realmuto, and Bauer. Half decent routine Mets off-season.
White Sox gonna offer George Springer more money for him to take less and play for the Mets
This is the way
Morosi is pushing the Arenado/LAD rumor again. I don't see why the Dodgers would do that unless Colorado just gave him away.
I would love to save Nolan from the middling Rockies. Let’s do it
Christmas is coming, and what do you get for the team that has everything?
suddenly i’m in favor of a salary cap
Them getting Arenado seems like a bit much to me and I'm a Yankees fan.
Everything just keeps coming up Mets right now
Ya but it might signal Seager’s eventual departure
The two sources of this being Morosi and Bowden make me less likely to believe there's anything there than if no one was talking about it.
What gets that deal done? I'm assuming the Rockies wouldn't want to take on anyone with a big deal since I'm guessing the point is to cut payroll and go young. Maybe something built around Dustin May?
dodgers donate one of the next 5 ws tropies to them in exchange for arenado
Maybe it’s a good thing and it shortens the window like it did for the Cubs when they traded all their high end minor league talent.
Arenado has an opt out after next season. I can't see LAD trading May for someone who will either be a rental if he's amazing or will opt in to 5/$165M if he doesn't think he'll get that on the open market.
This seems like a Stanton-type deal to me. If he gets moved it's to dump the $$ and maybe get a couple mid-tier guys. That's why Colorado, if it ends up moving him, probably isn't going to move him to LAD.
They aren’t giving up May for Arenado who will be a FA next year without the trade.
Seems weird that the Mets will net $4 million for Cano getting suspended. Not sure what the proper outcome should be, admittedly.
I think this is just the way you have to do those deals where cash is involved. When Prince Fielder retired, I think insurance basically covered all of his remaining contract for the Rangers, but the Tigers still had to pay Texas $6M a year until the end due to the terms of that trade.
Glad to see the $150k Uncle Stevie dropped in all of our venmo accounts is being put to good use
Can’t wait to hear the asking price.
blake reportedly open to any team that won't pull him when he's destroying the best lineup in baseball.
He didn't complain when he rode the strategy to a CY. He's seen the 6th inning in 56% of his starts. He's seen the 7th in 23% of his starts. It blew up on Cash bc of who he went to and how it played out but it was a pretty standard move for him that he's generally applauded for bc it works more often than not.
you took my post way too seriously.
Sign me up, what do you guys need? This is a great fit for the White Sox
They’re exploring all options with the Pirates first, you’re going to have to be patient.
1yr/$15m for morton to the braves
Damnit, but good for him and at least it's the NL; i love Uncle Charlie and hated the Astros having to face him a few times over the last couple years
Everyone else should get involved in this here offseason like Atlanta is.
The 1-year deal thing is getting kind of weird for them at this point, though. It's great in the sense of minimizing risk, but seems like they could be out there looking for more long term upside instead of of some these balloon one-year contracts.
Compared to the Albies and Acuna deals, this is a risk for them.
That's a really good addition for the Braves.
Ahh reading Smoltzy is always a treat. Wendel Clark
