Cleveland waited too long to move Lindor, although it appears they'll get Gimenez as part of the return. I like him a lot. If they don't get at least one league average OF out of this I don't know what they're doing.
Carrasco too? I'm not even sure what his value is, and whether that adds or subtracts from the return.
With Lindor and Carrasco gone, Cleveland is looking at a total payroll somewhere in the neighborhood of $30-35M for 2021. What a joke.
Wonder what this means for Springer and Bauer. Sounds like Springer has a pretty good market. I have no clue what the story with Bauer is.
We're reaching the point where the only way out of this mess for the PA might be a cap. Not having a salary floor and a guaranteed % of revenue is only going to create more of these kinds of situations, and the only way you solve those problems is by accepting a cap. It sucks, but you can't stop teams from doing this when you set up a completely free market with no rules either way.
It's crazy because from a baseball perspective they're pretty well run. They're just the cheapest owners in pro sports and have a total backwards approach to getting fans invested.
As someone who has wanted the former Mets owners, whom shall remain nameless, to see the guillotine, I feel terrible for Cleveland fans. These idiots destroyed your WS caliber team. It's bullshit and it's not right.
Brutal. congrats to the Mets tho. but I feel like other leagues would step in if a franchise was doing this in another sport.
I know it's easier to crap on owners but there is no excuse for being in the bottom 10 in attendance the year after going to the world series and worse most other years. You can argue chicken/egg but there has been competitive teams on the field and fans don't show up.
Again, heard this from Jason Collette on a pod. Not sure if you ever listened, but he is a road warrior with his job and has been to, I believe every park. Regardless, he said Progressive is far and away the most expensive park to go to a game. He was pissed and could not believe how it was priced. Guessing that has a ton to do with it but refer to the locals certainly.
Poor guy is having a rough go after being let go by MLB network, saw some highlights of the last few shows of IT and both him and Millar were really emotional :(. But sure let’s keep Fran Charles and Scott Braun
I've built up a level of hate for Chris Rose that dates back at least 20 years at this point with the Best Damn Sports Show. I'm not sad that he is gone from MLBN, and would not be sad if he is no longer with FOX. I can confirm Fran Charles is more useless than him, though.
