5:30 PM ET (via Ben Allbright): A QB trade on the horizon? Sources tell Ben Allbright that the Chicago Bears and Cincinnati Bengals have had discussions regarding Andy Dalton. A little over a week ago, Allbright had reported that the Bears were quietly interested in the likes of Derek Carr and Dalton. If/When another QB is brought in, the expectation is that Trubisky would enter training camp as the starter but would be on a short leash if he won the starting job. For reference as to how the situation may play out, think of the Tennessee Titans and the Marcus Mariota/Ryan Tannehill situation.
I would actually like that move for Chicago. If you assume they can't move on from Trubisky yet, a Dalton-level backup is about as good as they can do.
Adam Caplan reporting Eagles will be "all-in" on Byron Jones. Caplan is usually pretty plugged in when he makes a report like this.
Hasn’t Okung been having serious health issues with blood clots or something? Gross retired and we just went insane at LT it’s miserable
I'm a little confused on that as well but the article says: If at least 50 percent plus one of the dues-paying members of the NFL Players Association vote in favor of the proposed CBA, no player will be suspended during the next decade for testing positive for marijuana or any other substance of abuse.
can't wait to watch a amphetamine fueled tyreek hill break 40 mph on the way to having his heart explode in the endzone.
Does every player in the league vote, and as long as it gets over 50% it gets passed? Or are there team reps that vote on behalf of their teams, and 17 teams have to pass it?
I see all these rich players saying to vote no, but what does the majority of the players want? There's way more guys making $1mill than the vocal ones making $17mill. and, just fucking vote already.
Can't wait for the owners CBA to get passed so that the minimum salary will go up a couple hundred thousand and 90% of the rest of the stuff stays status quo. And then 3 months from now we see the #'s behind the new TV deals, and folks try and feign frustration at the owners getting richer off the TV deal
new tv deals = more total revenue = more revenue sharing to players just because a new tv gets struck doesn’t mean the sharing % changes now will that affect the minimum salary? probably not, but it will affect the salary cap
Right, and the argument I've seen is that a lot of support for this CBA, from the player side, is due to minimum salaries rising. My point is, they can get the minimum salary raised on a deal that's not this one, and get the player body taken care of better as well.
