Ron Paul had it the best. Elected official for 30 years and he either abstained or voted no on basically everything
Kevin McCarthy being the leader of these Tea Party losers must be the worst job in the entire government.
I do have some concerns that the Article isn't written well enough (or there aren't additional articles such as pressuring Pence or the Georgia officials). I believe many Senators will try to play both sides as a "well, I think he should be impeached and removed, but I just can't vote to convict on this Article because I can't say he incited the riot"
A bunch of people wearing Trump 2020 gear broke into the Capitol minutes after Trump gave a speech in which he said they were going to march on the Capitol
Ha I was thinking this exact same thing the other day... Like there should be an entrance exam considering the Republican party isn't interested in vetting candidates for fitness and understanding of their job. I mean the president's understanding of how the government works is less than what can be learned from watching Schoolhouse Rock! Feel like a lot of these Republican house members would think Councilman Jamm from Parks and Rec is a formidable political operative.
And for the month leading up to the 6th he told his followers to come to DC on the 6th and fight for him.
Especially in the rural parts of the west. Lamalfa's district is pretty much everything north of Sacramento.
The Republican Party is basically arguing that if a gang leader kills someone, they should not be held accountable if the rest of his gang threaten more murders in the future. We have to let him free so those future murders don’t get committed. they will sound very different when we try and pass prison reform and their buddies prison slave labor is at risk.
Maybe it’s me, but quoting a president who said we need to accept traitors back without malice but who then was assassinated by such a traitor seems to be a lacking argument.
Per the Vanity Fair article, it sound slike she wanted to go. I'm willing to bet someone told her she couldn't, and/or she wasn't invited in the interest of keeping the attendance small/safe. But of course she would then re-publicize that as her unwillingness to go.
I didn't know who Steny Hoyer was a few weeks ago but now I'm a big fan. Both on the 6th and today he just glares at the opposition while spitting fire. Weird how that seems stronger than looking at the sky and spouting off bullshit unrelated to actual events that happened, but thats just me, a lib soyboy crybaby.
Ya know words mean things and they just regularly pretend they mean whatever they want them to mean. Anarchist, socialist, communist, fascist, like read a god damn dictionary.
Yeah? Well children and the spouses of children of sitting presidents don’t traditionally hold high level White House jobs, and that doesn’t seem to have mattered.
people should learn about the real Lincoln, much like people learn a really dumb version of MLK it's used to sell a benign version of american heroes that doesn't challenge the status quo its just not close to reality
the senate won’t convict and nobody will be expelled from congress. the republicans will think if they expel cruz/hawley, then one of them may be next. criminal prosecution will be the only way anybody gets removed imo still gotta try though imo
I get what you are saying but also I'd prefer not to fight arm flailing, platitudes, and hysteria with the same.
One problem is that the white washed version of our country's majors figures is taught to our children but our real problem is that people still believe it when they're adults. At some point you would think more people would get curious about the god like figure they were taught about as children. Since they're all, you know, human.
I want to dedicate this second impeachment to Moxin know he is somewhere in the RedState comments section both-sides'ing this moment
