For round of 16, teams 1-8 auto qualify and then teams 9-24 will go head to head for the final 8 spots?

 

I would imagine it’ll be something like that. My question is how on earth do they expect to manage any semblance of “fairness” when you only play 8 out of 35 opponents and teams will have wildly different SOS?

 

I would imagine these teams have to be placed in pots to serve that purpose
