My favorite part of the release:
The best thing nebraska did on or off the field last year was ask to play that UT Chattanooga game knowing full well that the B1G would say no. Ended up painting them into a corner and have to look dumb changing the rules for Ohio State at the end. Much like the rest of the league decisions over the last 9 months though, exposing clowns at the top.
This is old people Facebook thread worthy
Kevin Warren is getting paid $4.1 million a year for his unwavering leadership.
Why’d they release this? Especially the emails with the names of crazy fans
I can rest easy now having this transparency.
Eleven Warriors filed a public records request. Under state law, Ohio State was obligated to release them emails and texts.
Never gonna be SEC with state laws like that, Ohio.
This one is actually a PR goldmine for our AD Gene Smith and President Kristina Johnson.
I was concerned when Johnson was hired that she would face the same critics that previous President Michael Drake faced. He was a decent administrator and OSU undeniably raised its academic profile under him, but he never really understood the very public role that having high profile sports meant in college administration.
As things like the Meyer/Zach Smith scandal erupted, Drake did not know how to handle the PR aspect of it. He was also black, and there absolutely was an under current of racism among his critics.
Karen Holbrook had critics in her five year tenure and similar misogyny undercut there.
Johnson came in as an openly lesbian President of OSU. She introduced her wife at her first press conference.
I thought it was going to be like the scene in Talladega Nights where Girard walks into the bar and starts playing avant garde jazz on the jukebox.
Johnson has been incredibly media savvy so far, as it relates to sports. This latest round of emails and texts are getting great play among alumni and fans.
The fact that nevadabuck went all in anti-Johnson as soon as she was hired makes it even more beautiful.
Wasn't picturing Herb as a redhead...
Not a single game worth a shit
IU @ Iowa might be decent, but yeah pretty blah.
Pretty much the bottom tier B1G teams in these games, huh?
Can’t wait for our annual prime time tilt against Rutgers!
Howard at Maryland the most interesting game in this trash lineup
I think you guys had to keep your starters in though the 4th quarter last year
Chickens come home to roost, friendo
STOP RUNNING TRICK PLAYS PAL
It is nice not being listed there.
Counterpoint - our game against Colorado is on the Pac 12 Network. At least we could actually watch the game if it was on BTN.
Fair point but I’m going.
I do actually get Pac 12 Network but only in standard Def so it’s terrible to watch on any tv less than 15 years old.
Rutgers was annoying last year.
I have no idea what you're talking about
I didn’t realize lawyers were involved. March 2023 seems like a long way out.
Fielding Yost is gonna testify for Ferentz from hell.
Getting locked in for Wisconsin and Auburn games. Am excite.
There’s no denying there was a racist problem going on but these last guys are straight looking for a paycheck. Especially Wadley, he’s still trying to say the Iowa coaches cost him NFL money and that the university was a terrible place. If it was so terrible then why beg the staff to give your brother a scholly.
Alvarez getting his wish with the white former FB player becoming AD at the expense of potentially hiring a minority candidate
Trivia Time: The Big Ten has three schools who are among the top 20 nationally for longest current streak without an AP Poll appearance in any weekly poll.
Who are they and which season did that school last appear?
Purdue , Rutgers, Illinois?
Purdue gotta be at least 15 years. Can’t remember last time they were good.
Knowing herb, Michigan is probably there with Rutgers and Illinois
We have played Purdue 7 times since they were last ranked. We’re 4-3, with one of our wins in OT (12) and another when we didn’t score an offensive TD (08).
They are kryptonite to us.
I was trying to figure out how Michigan played in here but I couldn’t make it work. Those other teams stick out more
I dont think Illinois has been ranked in 10 years
Feel like Purdue was ranked recently
Yeah, we were ranked before losing to a Michigan State team that had zero draft picks. Was kind of thinking Purdue snuck in at some point under Brohm and that Nebraska could be the “gotcha” third team.
Purdue is a bigger rival.
In the last 50 seasons there are 5 Big Ten teams who have finished the season unbeaten, but did not win a share of the then applicable AP, Coaches, BCS, or CFP title.
There may be more, I’m making this one up.
2012 Ohio State
1973 Ohio State
There’s 3 easy ones
One more easy one, one obscure one everybody but their own fan base forgets.
Either 97 Michigan or a 90s Penn State team but don’t care to look it up to fake my knowledge
Going with a random Minnesota team for #5
1994 Penn State
1973 Penn State does not count because they were an independent.
The last one is from the 90’s but it isn’t 1997 Michigan, who won a share.
2011 Illinois first half of the season
'92 Michigan went 9-0-3.
