Hog TE coach Dowell Loggains is interviewing for the Kentucky OC job. Would be a tough loss for us, phenomenal recruiter. Was our OC in waiting but we can’t get Briles to fucking leave bc as you’ll recall Miami 100% didn’t offer him.
Lots of younger NFL guys come in and do really well at recruiting. So hopefully that's the case. Should have a lot of ties to Fla and Louisiana.
You can have our TE coach He does absolutely nothing but he hit the HR cycle when he played beisbol at TCU
yea idk why anyone thought an OL coach under Pittman's mentorship is going anywhere. Dude is a stud as you know.
Nothing like waiting for WW3 to start before announcing you’re hiring Art Briles as your OC. that said, it looks like that tweet has been deleted. Would be amazing if it turned it to be incorrect
Sounds like Alex Atkins also turned down uga. And by turned down,I mean uga was not going to offer him the money or responsibilities he had at fsu so they likey never offered him, but I choose to say he spurned Kirby for norvell.
We have no idea what's going on. All our shit is super buttoned up then we hire a guy no one has ever heard of.
he will call plays but he isn’t primary play caller. Basically the OC job is to be a few plays ahead and send suggestions to norvell who makes the final call. Also he will likely have play calling duties for certain stuff, like short down and distance or red zone. Also responsible for game planning. While he isn’t the primary play caller he is will call some plays and be a critical role in game planning.
but if he isn’t the primary play caller is that job in title mostly going to fast track him to be a HC quicker than if he took the UGA OL coach job? I’m sure kirby could throw a fancy title on there to for a pay bump
yeah of Kirby wanted to make him co-OC and pay him 1.2 million I’d think he leave. But I don’t think Kirby wanted to do that and think the uga people said Kirby is looking for a more long term hire. Atkins will be a head coach soon.
I get that it’s a joke based off our w-l record but I’m pretty sure lots of coaches respect Norvell from an offensive mind. He just inherited 0 qbs, 0 playmaking WRs and one of the worst OLs in CFB so he hasn’t been able to implement everything. The concepts he tries are solid, the execution is a different story.
I mean he’s had 3 off seasons and he’s still planning on trotting out Jordan travis his QB choices have been blackman, Travis, Chubba Purdy, Tate Rodemaker, and McKenzie Milton And all those but the first 2 have been guys norvell brought in at that position, at what point do we stop blaming the guys he inherited?
This season was like 70% Norvell roster I think? So I’m not saying he doesn’t take any blame, but the talent on the team was very bad which means more losses which means you don’t recruit at the level you need to build the talent back up.
chubba and Tate were brought in on transition class. Don’t Disagree with Milton and should have brought in a qb that year too. But he is still a respected offensive mind. Doesn’t mean he is a good head coach.
There is a slight chance my opinion is effected by the lasting memory of him scoring 21 pts vs a Christian robinson lead defense that had given up 52 points and 530 yards to the juggernaut that is the Samford Bulldogs just 2 weeks prior
I can't imagine how upset you must be for 'ol billy scoring 18 on a texas team that surrendered 57 to kansas
Hopefully one day I get the chance to watch him go against a Christian robinson lead defense in order to compare
I remember hearing that UNC’s team this year was really bad except for a rock solid OL, so this news excites me.
