Everything in this country costs more today than a year or two years ago by a significant amount. For the first time in a long time employees have the leverage. If you want me, pay me or I’ll find somewhere that does. That goes beyond just college football coaches. If you’re performing at your job and your company is doing well I’d absolutely be asking for a raise right now at a minimum to react to today’s market.
If you think 5% inflation is the only contributing factor I don’t know what to tell you. Look at the cost of cars, gas, steel, freight, groceries. Everything has gone up. The market is resetting itself in several different areas.
Any rumors on who is in play for Fresno? Would think that's a pretty appealing job as a stepping stone to bigger things.
Godfrey said on SZD that they expect a retread type hire. They would like to protect against going after a first time hot shot and falling back down. this might have been a name said.
Oh man that doesn’t sound like a good move. I don’t see how a life long college coach is the move for a place like Duke.
When New Mexico State plays at Fresno State in 2024, there will be a real chance that one or both of the head coaches dies on the sidelines.
Money and resources, probably. Colorado State has a new stadium and was paying Addazio over $1.5 million. Norvell was making $600k at Nevada.
If Campbell didn't move this year he must be waiting on something specific. Seems like Fickel isn't going anywhere unless it's Ohio St.
Not even close, unfortunately. Nevada has a bottom tier budget in the MWC CSU is a much better job. Barf
Washington is hiring Michigan player personnel director Courtney Morgan in the same job. Morgan is an alum and seemed to be quite good in his first year in that job. He's got a prior relationship with DeBoer from Fresno, but I am perplexed by this one.
Campbell should have moved last year. They returned a ton and went 7-5. They lose Purdy, their top 2 TE, top WR and Breece Hall likely goes pro. Lose a lot on defense as well. I could see his stock taking a hit next year
