This is all stupid and pointless. Just cancel everything but the playoffs imo. We're just going to have super spreader events right before a big uptick to see mediocre teams who will all be missing players due to opt outs and transfers anyways.
I'd even be ok with cancelling the playoffs, if it wouldn't rob us of seeing what UGA was going to cook up to keep their streak alive
Georgia went private too think CFP ok’d it and both took advantage. They were requiring some mandatory open viewing to media. Im sure National guys will act like its a Hague violation.
we definitely do not mock Barstool and its doofus fans enough on this board but them being ghosted in a bowl and the pathetic payout attached to said bowl (Youtube streaming bowl lmaooooooooooooo) is a good start.
Seems like some of the most popular posters here are actually huge Barstool fans who defend their chud owner at every turn. Board hasn't evolved as much as we think IMO. We need to nuke that +650-page thread What a weird travel year for CMU
The shift in this board has been incredible. Yes there is a small faction holding on to their rivals.com/barstool roots. But they are a very small contingent.
I thought Heupel and Beamer did a lot with nothing. Heupel actually had them playing pretty well despite having all those transfers in the offseason. Beamer got SC bowl eligible and won as many games in 12 as Muschamp did the previous 21 despite playing a GA, an FCS transfer, and a guy with a broken foot at QB all season and having I think less than 80 scholarship players.
Yeah sure, and Gus dealt with a horrendous slot of injuries as well. I’m not saying they didn’t do good jobs, but you’re talking about 6-6 and 7-5 in the case of Heupel and Beamer, just not what you would expect would be award worthy .
This isn't quite UCF claiming a natty it didn't win, but it's in the same neighborhood. At least UCF is new money and not power 5.
Kind of a mixed bag, but definitely a lot of past winners that inherited good programs. Whatever, it’s an award who cares.
Curious if he gets a bonus for 10-wins and/or a bowl win and if NC State pays them out and then we’d have an answer. My guess would be the answer is no.
There's no cap on salaries for professors, presidents, AD's so tough to see a lot of precedent there. Although coaches are starting to exceed those other groups by a factor of 10
The NCAA tried to impose salary caps on coaches in the 1990’s and lost an antitrust case, cutting loose the salaries we see now. The reason why professional leagues can have a salary cap is that there is an exemption from antitrust law for collective bargaining agreements governed by federal labor law. There is no way all the P5 conferences unionize.
Odd to be planning title spots without having any idea of what playoff expansion will be like. Losing out on money
