Not to be overly dramatic, but if Red Bull can't pull out a W this weekend (or at least look competitive on race pace), then I think the fight for the WDC is basically over. Merc has proven they have the pace on the power tracks, if they're the fastest again this weekend on an aero track, then I don't think RB has a chance.

That's an interesting prediction considering we're 4 races into a 23 race season.

Monaco is always the track where Red Bull should have an advantage. (Along with Mexico) Hard to envision a path to victory for them without it. Monaco/Mexico are like Ohio and Florida for Republicans. Probably still not enough, but they are toast without them. Now, the raw power advantage Merc has isn't what it once was.

Yes in partnership with Schmidt Peterson Motorsports out of Indianapolis. They run two cars all season and three in the 500. They are more of a second tier team but they've got a win this year with their good young driver Pato O'Ward, who Zak Brown promised an F1 test this year if he won. Pretty cool.

Zak Brown seems very interested in bringing others in too. Ferrari was openly looking to join the sport as well but backed out recently. I know Zak and Panske will continue to push for that to happen. The hope is they come in as both a team, and an engine manufacturer.

I think Indy’s going to be Buoyed by American’s growing interest in F1 too. Sure they’re different, but with more cross over with drivers like Roman, Marcus Erickson, Sato, etc. it can only help the sport. Getting Ferrari in the mix will help open it up to Europe even more.

I feel like all Euro sports, major ones at least, are better tv events than their American counterparts.

Specific to F1, it's a lot easier to invest a max of 2 hours into a race vs 4 fucking hours for NASCAR. But the same goes for soccer vs football also. The condensed action with no commercials except during halftime make it a lot more enjoyable to watch

America is such a huge market for F1. For example, I "subscribe" to a YouTube channel for a guy who is an F1 photographer from Australia. He posts videos each week just about his experience and travels to all the different tracks since he goes to every race. He has stated on multiple videos about how much his channel has grown in the last year or so and a huge portion of that is people from America....so much so that now approx. 20% of his subscribers are from the UK and 20% is from the US now. The US used to be behind India, Australia, and a couple other countries for his channel.

I can’t believe a sports podcast’s interest in a new sport could “ruin” it for you.

Not everyone has to support or even like barstool, and lord knows they have their flaws but when we talk about how F1’s doing a great job of opening up the American market. Going on the highest rated sports podcast with someone like Horner who probably does the best job of anyone to sell the sport seems like a pretty good idea.

A couple of years ago Autosport did an article about how you can do the race weekend for a pretty reasonable cost. Obviously the party scene caters towards the wealthy. Monaco would probably be the best race to go to in person because the actual race is so boring that you aren't missing anything.
