I guess it’s exciting to some because it’s more accessible to them than Austin, but a flat parking lot race around a derelict stadium sounds shitty as fuck.
I could be wrong because I haven't ever been to a race but I'd assume that if you're concerned with really paying attention to the race itself then TV is your best bet. However if you want to be in the atmosphere and see/hear the cars and the spectacle that is an F1 event, then anywhere in Miami would be just fine.
Laguna Seca and/or Watkins Glen may be able to get approved. Road Atlanta is my personal dream but it won't happen due to the small paddock size (it's landlocked too preventing expansion). Also there isn't enough runoff in the esses. Road America would be nice but they said it would take $50 million to get it grade 1 certified (it's grade 2 now). Plus the lack of a large city nearby makes accommodations tricky. It would never be greenlit, but I'd love to see them knock out some laps at Daytona or Charlotte's rovals.
miami tickets 800 for the weekend in mclaren fan grandstand. on sale now. just bought my tickets and flights... https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0D005B370024D833?did=merch password: mclaren
It seems like Miami is going to be pricey. The tickets they are selling are for all 3 days. No options for 1 day. I’m not sure if there is a cheaper general admission option or not.
my guess is significantly more than that based on the Austin prices and the cap at 80k with no single day passes
pre sale started today and it looks like tickets are going quick. I have access on Thursday. I'll share my presale code when I get it if anyone wants it just pm. I tried to check current presale but i can't see prices without the passcode for today's sale.
Signed up for the Miami presale and my window was supposed to be Thurs at 2pm. Got an email tonight that they no longer have pre-sale tickets available. Cool cool
Use this link for marina grandstand. Code is mclaren. These are still available. I got same email saying no more Presale. https://www.ticketmaster.com/event/0D005B370024D833?did=merch
Auto Motor und Sport reported that Rausing wanted a fee for the team that Andretti seemed willing to pay but also a $50m-a-year guarantee for the team for five years – paid upfront. This would be to ensure Sauber had the funding to run at the budget cap in case there was any issues with sponsorship. Alfa Romeo’s renewed commercial deal and new funding was set to increase the team’s running budget in 2022 so this guarantee would effectively protect Sauber should anything be jeopardized. That appears to have put a price on the team Andretti is not willing to meet and multiple sources have now indicated to The Race there will not be a deal. This seems kind of weird to me. The current owner wanted Andretti to guarantee sufficient funding (paid up front) to run at the full budget cap? Not sure I'm tracking this correctly.
This is just a hunch, but with renewed interest, and a move favorable system in place for teams to at worst break even if not make money. The cost to buy an F1 team is about to skyrocket. On this specific issue. I think Alfa or Andretti or both indicated that they would seek other sponsors, or they back out if bought and Sauber said they can’t be left holding the bag.

Take 4-5 minutes and watch this. I think Dale Jr’s a good dude, and for anyone who listens to, or used to listen to the Dan Patrick show. You’ll remember how Dale jr’s relationship with his father was always quite strained. When he drove the car the other day I thought about how JR would react to it. I am glad not only was it well received, but he understood how it was an even bigger thing in his eyes than I thought.
Good post. They could've ended the clip before the dude called DR an Italian race car driver though lol
Doesn’t seem to have anything new in that article… I think the VW group is going to join. Question is will they enter as engine manufacturer and make the deal with Red Bull include the sell of Alpha Tauri and put the Porsche brand on it.
Alright....the Huskers got their losing over for the weekend. Now, on to the enjoyable part of the weekend!
Didn't expect that. Might make tomorrow interesting if Red Bull does actually have better race pace around the turns.
Definitely surprised by Merc locking out the front row. Would like to hear more about the duct tape on Max rear wing.
Two races in a row I can watch live… nice. We taking betting odds on what type of madness is going to occur at turn 1?
Not sure why Valterri didn’t try and cut off Verstappen. Basically gave him the best line into turn 1.
So if you swerve to miss some one and you give back the advantage you gained by cutting the corner, if you give it up, all’s forgiven?
Yeah literally gave Max the racing line Yes. The penalty would be the same anyway. But you can be tactical with when you give it up
