At the same time Max has to learn that not every corner or line is his by his mere existence. His arrogance and petulance today would have killed Lewis like 6 years ago.
dude passes 16 people on a notoriously difficult to pass track, and DC’s dumbass brings it back to Lewis. Infuriates me. Also, holy shit at a full fresh Merc PU. So much power.
Max has never given a fuck. It’s probably in part why he’s loved. But the “he didn’t want to give me space and that’s what he gets” quote seconds after the accident are why I can’t ever truly be a fan of his.
refresh my memory but was Hamilton punished for running Max off the road in England. If not then this is just bullshit and probably only done to extend a title battle that truly shouldn’t be close if RB wouldn’t have such shit luck this year.
I find the post race interviewers to be some A plus cunts especially when they interview Bottas. Everything is always focused on Lewis. This dude just went from last to third and had a fantastic drive and you want to ask him about an accident he didn’t even see. Fuck off
Hamilton got a 10 second penalty. That was a whole other shit show (besides who was at fault) since people thought the penalty was too lite. There certainly seems to be consistency issues with the Stewards’ rulings (that go way beyond Lewis/Max), but it’s also kind of hard to compare the penalties since Hamilton was still in the race at Silverstone vs. both of them being crashed out in Monza.
Holding what a guy says against him in the heat of competition is silly. You ever played a competitive sport? Anyone who has knows you, I, everyone says wild shit when you're in the middle of it. He wasn't able to see a replay within seconds and see how close that was to a really bad accident like all of us at home were. If he had, he wouldn't have sounded so flippant about it.
He always comes off as flippant. This isn’t a one off. He’s done it since his rookie year. He did it against Seb when he was with Ferrari. He’s an entitled asshole that doesn’t give a fuck. It’s cool and like I said it’s what makes him a fan favorite. But that’s not my cup of coffee.
Just watched Kym Illmans latest video recapping Monza...one awesome nugget. If you didn't know, the Drive to Survive production and camera crews always follow 2 teams per race. It's somewhat random so sometimes they get lucky with getting in with an interesting storyline for that week and sometimes they don't. Well at Monza they were with Ferrari (obviously since it's their home track) and..... McLaren. Can't wait for that episode next year!
Ham/Max sucked all the oxygen out of the room, but Ferrari was extremely quiet for having 2 guys near the front of the pack all weekend
I think the punishment is harsh in compar I thought Ferrari was planning on bringing engine updates to Monza. I don’t think they did. The race for 3rd in the constructors championship is very close and will probably come down to the last race or two. Pretty fun season overall for F1.
Watched it last night and thought it was good. You can really see how these guys are all uber competitive dickheads. The young guns coming up all threaten the old dudes and they start wrecking people.
Awful that he’s in that condition. Rooting for his son to continue the legacy once he gets in a real car.
When they interviewed Mick at the end.... Spoiler When he said he would give up everything for one more talk with his dad......fuck I want nothing but the best for him. Also, so great that Seb is still on the grid and has taken him under his wing.
So looks almost certain that Oscar Piastri is going to be passed over for an F1 seat next year. Here are his driver standings the last three years: 2019 formula Renault - 1st 2020 formula 3 - 1st 2021 formula 2 - 1st (ongoing)
Also he can’t drive f2 next year if he wins. So either he has to go be a reserve for Renault and get the occasional FP1 drive or go Indy or some other series. Feel bad for him.
F1 going to drop the mgu-H and Volkswagen group might join in collaboration with Red Bull? So does this mean there will be a new team(s) or will it be a Audi badged Williams team of some sort?
Its the hybrid portion of the powerplant they currently use. Its the most expensive and pretty technology advanced portion of the powerplant and likely gone from F1 starting in 2026
When I posted the article back a few pages I took it at VW would enter in as a new team. But it seems like VW will only be a engine manufacture and combined with Redbull (Porsche) and probably Williams (Audi) instead of making a full team. Kinds bums me out. Given they will doing away with the H portion of the engine curious if Honda comes back to F1. It would be nice to have more manufactures and more teams.
To expand on Bankz’s post… the mgu-k is what gathers energy from braking and the mgu-h recycles energy from the heat (exhaust?) given off the engine.
Yeah its a pretty advanced and fascinating process. I think bio fuels will be the next big thing in F1. Will also be interesting to see what concession Ferrari, Renault, Mercedes get for dropping that component on the new engine.
MGU-H is closely tied to the turbocharger from what I understand. Recaptures heat from the turbo and then applies it back to reduce/eliminate the traditional "turbo lag" that occurs. My understanding is that the MGU units, particularly the MGU-H is what really separates the power units on the grid right now. Said another way, the internal combustion engines are all relatively comparable, so the difference in output is all driven by having more efficiency in the MGU.
This is a great explanation. Skip to 4 minutes if you are familiar with internal combustion engines (ICE)
