Both Turners padding their stats late against a team who has given up. I love it. Sharks gotta eat.
Nice to be able to save kenley
Giants scored 3 immediately after the Rockies took the lead. Unreal.
Tied 3-3 now.
I don’t have a lot of confidence in the cat man.
As a number 5 starter? Not asking for much, just to go 5 innings, give up 1-2 runs, and relieve the pen
4-3, top 9. Giants have loaded the bases with no outs.
God the Rockies are so fucking worthless
7-4 now. Fucking brutal. Giants just constantly pulling out these come from behind wins.
Giants have 10 more games with the Padres. please come through SD
Mitch White is so ass. Having to throw bullpen games 2 out of every 5 games sucks.
Which is why I’d like Gonsolin back in the rotation please
White was actually quite good after the first.
Absolute dog shit lineup again today. Wish they used the Bauer money on Kike and Joc. I know it wasn’t gonna happen but damn.
as much as I would have loved to have both of those guys, this lineup having Souza and McKinney in it is unnecessary. Where is Beatty? Lux? McKinstry?
Also, does Smith really need another day off?
More Andre today?
Roberts isn’t getting enough heat for some of his roster moves. Ain’t no way McKinney should be getting playing time over the three guys you mentioned
maybe it isn't his call? I dunno. Very bizarre, especially since you'd want Beatty's bat and eye for October.
some unfortunate luck for Muncy and Turner that inning.
Oh god, Bellinger with the bases loaded
Bellinger up with the bases loaded. No doubt about it, I’m ready to be hurt
Edit: And he flies out before I could even post this lmao
no team has a better eye for the outside zone fastball than the Dodgers. And no one gets fucked on those bad calls more than this team.
Souza and McKinney back to back in the lineup
Max is absolutely squaring the ball up today. My bet is he has the late homer to win it
Belli :/ that wasn't even a competitive pitch. he is so fucking antsy, tough to watch
This offense, woof. No reason they shouldn’t be putting out the best possible lineup after yesterday’s loss
I regret watching this game.
This offense has been boom or bust for a while now. Maybe this result will make Roberts realize he’s actually in a division race and he can’t continually trot out two sub .200 hitters every game.
Maybe, just maybe, having a lineup with Bellinger, Souza, McKinney and Barnes batting back to back was a bad idea. Maybe the younger guys in the minors (Lux, McKinstry, and Beaty) should be called up instead of McKinney and Souza.
It’s time to move on from Roberts, Kershaw, and Jansen.
This makes no sense, but alrighty. Let's get the reactionary nonsense going.
Dodgers have, more or less, the second best record in baseball. Kershaw has been out for months and is finally coming back Monday to stabilize the rotation. Kenley has been fine.
I get tired of the Roberts talk .
Kershaw hasn’t pitched a full season since 2015. Jansen is obviously at the end as a closer. 51 million between those two. Hate to see Kersh go but father time is undefeated. Time to move on. Roberts is nothing special at all.
The dodgers can pay anyone anything. And the pitching has been unbelievable this year. Unsure what this is even about or what it fixes.
Kershaw usually has an IL stint every year, but I don’t remember one ever being this long. It’s certainly a luxury the Dodgers have (and you have to factor in that Kershaw is a legend) but Kershaw is still really good when healthy so it’s worth it.
I know I talk a lot of shit about Jansen, but he’s been very good this year. We do need to make a move eventually because of Jansen’s age, but he hasn’t been a problem this year.
I am ambivalent about Roberts. I don’t think he is anything special, but I don’t think he’s bad either. The Dodgers offense has statistically been the worst in the MLB for the last three weeks. That’s not necessarily on Roberts, but his decisions when it comes to roster moves and who he is putting in the lineup has been head scratching to stay the least.
If the Dodgers wind up in the one game playoff and get bounced I think that might be the end of his tenure.
I doubt it, but it definitely puts him on a short leash heading into 2022.
Regardless, I hope we don't see any lineup the rest of the way like we did today. Calling up Beaty (and maybe McKinstry) should be a no-brainer.
Maybe talk about it a little more and make it happen
Dodgers have Urias, Buehler, and Max set up to face SD. And then we get Arizona with Kershaw returning on Monday.
Dodgers need to go 5 out of the next 6.
What the hell has happened to Cody bellinger?
pretty hard to say. He had shoulder surgery in the offseason due to his home run celebration gone awry.
Then he fractured his leg and was out for a month or two.
Unsure if his struggles are related to those injuries or not. I am willing to bet yes, but it has been quite a brutal fall for him and next year will pretty much be his last chance with the Dodgers imhv. He is under team control for 2 more years I believe.
Win five of six and maybe pick up a game. Just doesn't feel like our year.
Probably. Hopefully the Dads do our dirty work against SD. not holding my breath.
I feel pretty confident throwing Max in a WC game
Agreed. Orel made a good point about an "end of season tie" with SF, which would compel a 163rd game to determine the division winner. He opined that having to play a "game 7" style twice, even if it proved successful, would set the team up for failure going forward. Valid point, imo.
Now swap McKinney and Souza for Beatty and mckinstry
Lux! And Bellinger’s speed!
Ummm… Max Scherzer is perfect through 7 now
