He used pretty much the same language as Orlovsky about "talking to coaches around the country" when he said Michigan was going to waive the white flag to avoid getting embarrassed by Ohio State. That was four months ago. He does that all the time on stuff. Not defending Orlovsky at all. What he said was stupid even if it's true, and it doesn't sound like has any clue if it was true or not. Just think it's funny Herbstreit of all people would throw stones from his glass house at another ESPN personality for doing it.
And again, we don’t have to immediately jump to the conclusion that there was a racist element to this. This is the time of year where teams throw out all sorts of bullshit rumors and stuff to influence the draft. There is always a lot of smoke out there and you can’t believe half the shit that gets “leaked”. Dalvin Cook a few years ago was an example (if anything, that was more egregious).
Yes. Which seemed like draft rumor bullshit and we haven’t seen any evidence to suggest it was true after 4+ years in the NFL.
Herbstreit seems like he's wacked out on alcohol or pills sometimes when posting. Prob saying stuff he shouldn't
Eubanks will stick in the league as a pass catching TE2 somewhere. One of the many athletes michigan failed squeeze every drop out of. Great size, big catching radius
DUI def does indicate a judgement problem. But his parents named him McCorkle, so clearly it runs in the family.
I feel that way about anyone getting a DUI. I don’t think it’s a permanent problem typically. But I guarantee that if Fields got one in the past few years that it surely would be brought up more often than Mac Jones’.
Guy pushed CJ Henderson out of the class the weekend before signing day because Henderson threw a fit at an all star game. Guy has no business coaching in cfb and would have been gone in a year if it wasn’t for his status as a cane.
Getting a DUI at a young age seems like more of a maturity problem than an alcohol problem to me. It means you lacked the judgment not to drive that night.
Kinda ridiculous his stock has been dropping some Writers hyping the other tackle prospects for clicks when this guy has always been the sure thing
I don’t know it’s even that his stock is dropping as much as the qb surge/ teams positional needs is impacting practical landing spots for him.
I've seen some put him past 10 in their rankings and below the shorter/maybe a guard tackle from Northwestern
Yeah. He’s a player. Probably improves his stock today. Wouldn’t be mad at all if he’s there for Saints late 1
Have to give credit to those 2-3 people who have the Northwestern tackle ahead of the Oregon tackle in their rankings. Especially since neither of them played this year. Those guys must be rolling in cash from all the clicks they've gotten from that one.
Collins is probably my favorite late first round player in the draft. He's unlikely to end up in Cleveland because we don't seem to give a shit about linebackers. Naturally he's gonna end up in Pittsburgh or Baltimore and wreck shit for the next 8 years
Daniel Jeremiah has Slater rated higher yet says he doesn’t even know if he can play Tackle in the nfl. Seems weird
There’s a bunch of talking heads that are saying Sewell is going to be a guard at the next level. Makes no sense.
Jeremiah likes the value in Slaters positional versatility from what I’ve heard him say, I think that combined with not seeing Sewell play in over a year is why he’s got him there. Not saying that’s the correct take because give me Sewell all day every day but I can understand where Slater might have a broader market for the positional versatility.
From his top 50 on Slater... Overall, Slater might lack ideal length, but it doesn't hinder him and I believe he can excel at left tackle. If a team chooses to play him inside, he should quickly develop into a Pro Bowl guard.
