this idea that Wentz isn't salvageable is weird to me. He was a top level QB the last 5 weeks of the season 12 months ago. Its not like he's been broken for 2-3 years.
I should have added him. Those 3. Definitely others in the mix for jobs but those 3 seem likely to get one. Daboll would be the one I would hire if I was one of these teams bringing in a young QB in the draft.
I'm just super-pessimistic about all things Eagles right now. what worries me about Wentz is if his body has broken down a little bit. he's had the injuries and I've heard some other rumors about him. I don't know if he's lost a step athletically that he'll never get back and if he's good enough in other areas to make up for it. I do think he has a better chance of being great than Hurts.
I think the question isn't as much "is he salvageable?" as it's "how likely is he to turn it all the way back around in Philly?". At some point, sometimes everyone involved is better off with a fresh start.
I’m not saying he won’t go to the NFL but I don’t see why he would go to the eagles. That’s not a good situation. I think the eagles management has a much different perspective on that job than everyone else does. The eagles have 3 of top 11 DT cap hits in 2021. Their top earner have either recently signed or been restructured in previous cap crunches after the super bowl so their cap situation isn’t good and there is a QB controversy. I can’t imagine Ryan day would leave Ohio state for that.
yea when I say salvageable, I mean strictly from an Eagles perspective. a fresh start could be what he needs, but that doesn't really help me as an Eagles fan.
I think you will have to salvage him some next season to get anyone to willingly trade for him without a bigger than Brock osweiler type bribe being included in the trade
In a very different way, the Lions are kind of in the same boat with Stafford in terms of whether to keep going with Stafford after 12 years of zero playoff wins and not making the postseason the last four years.
if he's on the team all of next season, it basically becomes a one year deal before he can be cut. I think you'll take a hit the following year but nothing crazy.
That report is at least somewhat believable. They should be interested in Day. I believe La Canfora had a tweet yesterday saying the Eagles and other teams were really interested in Fickell. Now that's funny.
That Bears press conference was "an 87 minute insult to you, the Chicago Bears fan" They seriously tried to spin a 6 game losing streak as a positive multiple times.
Like that they got a guy with no broncos ties, broncos love their broncos men sort of like how michigan loves their michigan men
I don’t fully trust him but it wouldn’t surprise me. Nagy fucking bienamy as much as he’s fucking the bears these days.
Of the Lions' alleged four finalists (him, Dodds, Holmes and Fontenot), he's the only one I had heard of before two months ago, and he's the only one who would make me upset if they hired him. People can learn from mistakes and stuff, but I really don't want to root for that guy. Especially when you read some of the background stuff on guys like Holmes and Fontenot.
maybe they think everything will implode and they will get to have a high draft pick for a new GM/coach to come in after next season talk about wasting khalil Mack
The only explanation I can come up with that makes even a bit of sense is the McCaskey's don't want to pay for a new team president, coach and gm in a year they lost revenue. And next year after we shit the bed on the field and land a top pick they plan on replacing everyone. Its rumored but not confirmed that Nagy and Pace are out of contract following the season. I pray this is the ultimate ending to this story. And extension are not given out after another fools gold start coming off of Pace mortgaging our future via trading picks and giving out back loaded contracts.
Good for the jags for not just hiring a former fired nfl HC like every other boring team does. I'm interested in seeing his staff. He's always been good with that.
Steelers fired their OC, OL coach and secondary coach Didn't realize Tom Bradley was with the Steelers
