A guy I grew up with got housecucked (outbid) by Cole Cubelic So when I see I see him posting from homewood, I laugh
are the Bucs losing guys? we retain our core and if Veach continues the good moves he’s made the last few years, I expect us to be a top 3 team. just thought it was weird to see them at 4 after an all time playoff run
Barrett, David, Godwin, Gronk, AB, Fournette are all FA’s. I think the first 4 come back, Godwin via franchise tag. Someone like Brate could be a cap casualty.
the #Tampa Bay Buccaneers having the league worst all time winning percentage but being one of 14 franchises to win multiple Super Bowls is an incredible stat
Shaq, Fournette, Godwin, Suh and David are all free agents after this year. All but Suh and maybe Lavonte are in line for a healthy raise. David made $10.8M last year and is an elite LB but he turns 32 soon so I'm not sure what he'll command on the open market. Shaq was on a franchise tag and will get paid a shitload by someone
Forgot about Suh. If he comes back, great. If not, he’s probably the easiest to replace on that list.
Would like Lavonte to retire a Buc. Hope we can resign Shaq, Godwin and lavonte.. don't care about the rest.
#2 is too high for Buffalo until they get better at running the ball and get back to playing better defense.
I'm sure the power rankings are taking into account that the Bills are an extremely well-run organization and will improve the team's flaws after going to the AFC Championship, especially in light of the great moves the Bills made last offseason. If the rankings were ranking the teams as they are currently assembled, the Bucs would be #1.
KC, Tampa, Rams, Bills, GB, Cleveland, Baltimore in that order for me. Don’t really see anyone after that winning it. WFT, SF could make some noise with a QB. I think Seattle falls off a little this year. Draft FA should certainly shake some of the above up though.
I think the question of the season will be how big of an improvement Stafford is. Is he better than Goff? Yes. Is he a top 10 QB? He hasn't been in Detroit, but maybe McVay will unlock him
Hill won’t be the QB. We will resign Winston and ply him over Hill. Payton has been pretty direct in the last few weeks that he thinks Winston can be the guy, likes his leadership, wants him to resign.
I also think The Saints trade up for Mac Jones if possible. Don’t think he will start season 1, but maybe.
That contract still makes 0 sense to me. I assume you can get Winston for cheap on a 1 year prove it deal. If it works you're in great shape and if it doesn't you'll get a nice draft pick
It’s a terrible contract, but I think at the time the organization believed he could potentially take over after Brees. I think his in game snaps and what Winston showed behind the scenes has changed that. I think Winston can throw for 4000 plus, 30 plus TDs and keep ints to around 15 with this offense and coaching.
I’m not 100% sold on Winston, but he has talent, something to prove and I think coaching and organization is a good fit for him. If he plays I think he will certainly do better than he did his last year in TB. Not sure if it will be good enough, but I think he will improve
Jameis’ ceiling is probably Jay Cutler at this point. And he didn’t just suck in Arians’ aggressive system — he sucked in Koetter’s too. Not at all saying Arians or Koetter are the offensive genius that Payton is, but I have serious doubts that Jameis’ flaws dating back to his college days can be fixed.
