What was the deal with Ridley this season? All I ever saw/read was that he taking time for a family matter or personal reasons. Didn’t know he was having issues with the team.
It's been super quiet. Not sure what that means exactly but I think the fact that the Falcons haven't leaked anything at all means there was a legitimate issue and it wasn't just a "I don't wanna play here anymore" thing.
i had read some early internet rumors that it was related to alcoholism and that Smith was trying to get him to rehab
This is the news that I got from people in South Florida with contacts in the football world. What I was told, hes had a pill and alcohol problem since high school and the high school coach let it go and then when got to Alabama it got worse and Saban didn't give a fuck and didn't try to get him any help. Its actually caused a lot of disdain from High School coaches in South Florida to Nick Saban. Arthur Smith was the first one to try and get him help and Ridley has had a hard time admitting the problem.
The Saban didn’t give a fuck or try to get him any help line seems legit as evidenced by our issues recruiting in SoFla.
That Giants stuff reminds me of Richt not operating with a full 85-scholarship roster at Georgia. Like self-imposing sanctions on your team or something?
jags at least have lawrence texans at least have the (presumed) assets from a deshaun trade we have nothing as long as mara stays involved totally hopeless situation
I didn’t really plan on watching much of that game but they were really good and made it enjoyable to watch.
Since Fangio might get shit dumpstered today, here's my list of guesses. Rich Bissacia - Gets a new contract if they win tonight. Papers if they lose. Gotta like how he's kept them fighting though. I think they should keep him and let Mayock run the draft. Vic Fangio - Only chance he has to stay would be no desire to make major moves before ownership is decided. I think he's fired. Today. Not sure who the fuck wants that job, though. Mike Tomlin - 0 risk Kevin Stefanski - Low. Only chance he's on the outs would be Haslam choosing Baker Mayfield. If that were to happen, I look for the Denver Broncos to be interested. Brian Flores - Risk here is low, but not 0. I think Ross tries again for Jim and misses. David Culley - I've heard rumblings of him being fired for a stronger NE guy, but I don't think it will happen. Culley has done a miracle with that shit roster and deserves more time. Pete Carrol - This one is the toughest one to determine. Wouldn't surprise me if he gets one more year, but I think he's worn out his stay in Seattle. Pete 'retires' and the Seahawks go a new direction. This looks like a strong likely for Jim Harbaugh to land if he's ready to move. Joe Judge - While the word is he's staying, the Giants have been the biggest push of diarrhea since that rumor has emerged. I think he fucked up a sure thing. Matt Rhule - 2022 is the end of the road. Mike Zimmer - A good coach that got Kirk'd. But like Pete, he's been there too long and it just isn't going to improve. It's time. His health is shit. Matt Nagy - lmao The fireds: Nagy Zimmer Judge Carrol Fangio Bissacia
The Washington FT should fire Jack Del Rio into the sun and see if they can get Fangio as DC. Too much talent on that front for them to be so average
all judge had to do was shut the fuck up. instead he gave that insane press conference and may have talked himself out of a job the fact it’s even a debate shows how incompetent and oblivious mara is. just a totally hopeless franchise that will wander the wilderness for at least a decade
He’d have to have a pretty convincing plan as to how he’d develop Fields. I don’t buy that every team with a young QB needs a hot offensive coach, but it’s a variable to consider. Pat Shurmer sure as piss ain’t it
Del Rio saying he knows he’ll be back as DC makes me wish terrible things upon him He’s probably right though, Rivera seems too stubborn for his own good
Fangio should have been fired immediately after kicking that field goal in the fourth quarter yesterday
After all his bullshit this year, Carolina keeping Rhule around because it doesn't want to acknowledge he was a bad hire seems extremely likely to result in setting the 2022 season on fire before it starts. If they keep him, he's the overwhelming favorite to be the first coach fired during the season, and he probably doesn't make it past week 8 unless they start better than .500 and are in the playoff race all year.
I feel like a team with a veteran QB and decent offensive talent should grab Fangio. I feel like he had those Broncos teams way overachieving considering the talent level. No matter what his teams will play elite D
DeToxRox is there already a NFL coaching carousel thread from mid-season? Or do you need to start one?
