Didn't TO imply that Jeff Garcia was gay to the national media? Maybe that's what he's talking about as far as "mindset" and "toughness" goes?
Bomani had a great line when Eisen had him on earlier this week and tried to get him to talk about JimmyG being a winner. Something along the lines of "No one is saying the Bengals' OL gave up 9 sacks but still found a way to win their game, so I don't see why we have to say that about JimmyG".
I always assumed he was, but I believe he was married to Carmela Decesare for a while and lawdy that’s a good looking woman.
Maybe I was reading too much into it but I just kind of assumed he was talking about TO when he said there are people out there given a platform to talk about something they've never done Although in hindsight he's probably just telling a woman to not talk about football
As the most important position in every sport, it absolutely counts. Tom Brady is considered the greatest player in nfl history. Is he the greatest athlete? Cmon man.
this is a terribly bad comparison on so many levels and you should feel bad for making it. 1. It's a false equivalency for QB wins when you compare games played, which is a pretty useless stat to begin with considering a Tim Tebow has a winning record as a starter (63%) 2. No one is talking about athletic ability. 3. Ignoring wins/superbowls, there are a litany of Tom Brady stats that give credence to him being a great QB. Are there any for Jimmy G? I don't care to look.
Why is ESPN acting like Deebo Samuel is like nothing we've ever seen? He's a really good hybrid back/receiver. Is it purely because he was WR next to his name instead of RB?
Jeff Garcia was def an enigma as far as NFL QBs go. He looked like he spent his days typing away in a cubicle, sounded like a stereotypical middle-aged gay man, but was tough as hell and a little ahead of his time as far as mobile quarterbacks. People assumed TO was just an asshole and felt bad for Garcia. Seems tho now, he was just better at hiding it.
If you include postseason, they’ll put far too much emphasis on it but still prefer it to just being a regular season award You have 2 1 seed flops then a team with one of the worst defensive performances ever *Including Rodgers as MVP and Quinn deserves nothing either
There have been 156 instances of players putting up more yards from scrimmage than he did this year. I’m not saying anything negative about him, just that the narrative that he’s some brand new type of player we’ve never seen before is stupid.
He's a hybrid that they use mostly at receiver, when most teams would try to use him mainly out of the backfield. He could end up being the best ever, idk, that's not what I'm talking about. The hooplah is simply about him being labeled a WR instead of RB.
i saw something on twitter or elsewhere a few weeks back charting his YAC to his Air Yards or something similar in comparison to other WRs. He was literally off the charts. Throw in his versatility and the mid-season position change and i don't think he's been oversold as the key to the 49ers' success.
All of their rbs got hurt and they were like fuck it, let's see what this guy can do He had fewer than 10 carries in a game until the playoffs. 1700 total yards. 18 yards per catch. Idk that seems good
Travis Etienne will be a fraction as good in that role as deebo (I have no idea if ETN is from South Carolina but I’m just going to assume he’s an honorary Carolinian because clemson).
