On one hand, Kliff and Keim did set him up to fail in that Rams game without Hop. On the other, he absolutely seems like the type that cannot handle any criticism and defaults to the Rodgers-style deflection. Doesn’t seem like there’s much self-reflection to Kyler and this is the first time he’s really ever taken sustained heat in his life.
Wentz was the same way.
It is unusual that he’s the only QB that you never see talking with any offensive coaches or looking at the Surface Pros on the bench between series. Any time they cut to him on the broadcast he’s just sitting by himself staring straight ahead or watching the scoreboard.
