Polanco crushed that ball
Mods please delete all my polanco posts. Thanks
Guys I’m usually pretty conservative with prospects but if we can get Trout for Meadows and deGrom for Keller I think I’d do it and make a run this year
Not sure I want a boring player like trout to ruin our chemistry
Lol Oliver Perez pitching
Ollie's best contribution to Pirates baseball was this commercial.
Fourth OF'er at best on this team right now amirite?
Can he play SS?
Corey Dickerson has been pulled from the game.
If Huntington trades him during a win streak like this...
Nah. He was trying to beat out that grounder to second (I was honestly cringing watching him running so hard) and they took him out after. He was grimacing
Missed him getting injured. Hopefully nothing serious.
It’s a blowout and he’s started 9 of 10. Probably precautionary/giving him rest. I’m officially not worried
Ok. Please let us know if you change your official status
Kiss of death. He's probably in a Cleveland-area ER right now having an amputation or something.
If we were a winning franchise we would have said he was pulled as a sign of mercy for the Indians.
We have like the most boring twitter possible so never gonna happen
Our AA squad just put up 4 runs on Andrew Miller in 1/3 of an inning. Stopstoptheyrealreadydead.gif
Brault trying his damndest to get Felipe Vazquez an appearance tonight.
At the moment I like this deal for several reasons.
Hearn has progressed well, but is still a bit of a wild card at AA.
Hearn was also merely a throw-in in the trade where we acquires Felipe Vazquez for Mark Melancon
GMNH turning Melancon into Rivero and now Kela (who is under team control until 2021) is pretty good.
The only thing that (potentially) is not to like is the PTBNL.
Shane Baz's name has come up, and he's been less than stellar to start his professional career.
Like this move a lot assuming the second PTBNL is not a top guy. I’m not big on hearns and Kela is a solid, controllable reliever. This is dare a say the type of smart move we needed that helps now and later.
I still think it may be Shane Baz.
Everyone calm down. A lot of baseball to be played yet!
Joey Cora is the worst third base coach I’ve ever seen. My god we gotta do something about him being down there
Felipe Rivero going from 99 to 89 is so much fun to watch.
Brault just walked in two runs
And Hurdle put a lineup out there with 3 starters (not including the pitcher) tonight against division leading Cubs.
Sean Rodriguez with 2 errors in the first and a 4 pitch strikeout. Unfuckingbelievable
SRod has compromising photos of Hurdle.
These lineups are definitely shit, that's for sure.
We won yesterday, had to go for a win tonight too and its not looking promising.
Pretty sure Kingham is the odd man out with Archer in town and he sure pitched like it tonight.
I’m still mad at dickerson trying to hustle out a grounder to second in a blowout
2 errors and 2 strikeouts for Sean Rodriguez
Good god Joey Cora
Can Cora be DFA'd?
So frustrating that we are gonna be stuck with hurdle forever. Starting Holmes was absolute insanity and idiotic. What a loser move
Overall I'm pleased. 82 wins is pretty impressive considering they traded away Cutch & Cole before the season even started.
As far as the offseason goes, I'd be OK with moving Cervelli out. Elias Diaz has proven he can be the everyday catcher.
I want Frazier & Kang in the middle infield. It's clear that Newman and Kramer need another year.
Colin Moran made a late season adjustment at the plate and I think he improves next year.
Dickerson, Marte, and yes, I want Pablo Cruz in RF until Polanco returns mid season 2019.
Pitching staff looks very, very solid.
Taillon has emerged as our #1 IMO. His numbers were fantastic this year.
Chris Archer will settle in and be just fine.
Trevor Williams may see a bit of regression, but who knows? Didnt expect the year he had.
Ivan Nova is better than most teams #4 starters.
I guess its gonna be Kingham in 5 spot with Kuhl out the whole year. I wouldn't be surprised to see GMNH dumpster dive for some competition to push him. Clay Holmes is not the answer, Mitch Keller needs a full season at Indy.
Bullpen should be good again. Crick turned out to be very reliable, Kela is a stud, Vazquez is a stud.
There's a big amount of money coming off the books. $16m or so between Harrison & Mercer alone. I'm curious if they'll spend any of that. Time will tell.
You are forgetting about Musgrove. He'll be in the rotation, not Kingham. Pirates are mediocre (.500 record) and lack stars. While their pitching isn't bad, their position players are less than average. No hope for the playoffs any time soon.
Huntington just said Kang won’t be playing SS next year. If he returns it’s as a 3B. Not sure why that’s the case
I don't know if this is the #Pittsburgh Pirates thread I'm supposed to be posting in, but... is this team going to be worth a shit this year or not?
Pitching staff looks legit on paper, don't see where they're going to get runs though, even if Kang is juiced and sober, and Polanca can still swing a bat when he returns from that shoulder.
No. And your team is going to be sucking a lot of dick today!
Pitching staff is overhyped, expecting a big regression from Williams. And archer sucked for us
I expect a big year from Archer.
Biggest question will be hitting, imo
