In order to get the passing game going against us you need either a QB who can scramble and make plays (like Nix did at times) or an excellent OL. The other thing we really haven't had to do a ton of is blitz
Almost fell like you have to grade both teams offense and defense independently, like so: UGA defense Bama offense UGA offense Bama defense (Christ alive, Golding is truly hot garbage)
We've been complaining about Golding since stepped foot on campus basically and any time we do it's "fuck you Bama won't feel bad for all your 5*s." All you have to do is look at the regression every year in tackling and specifically how lost his own position group (ILBs) is to know that he melted his brain taking one of many doses at Bonnaroo 2006.
JT is a significantly better QB that Stetson in almost all advanced QB stats. He throws a significantly more accurate ball and spends much less time holding onto the ball before throwing. Stetson obviously has a running aspect that JT doesn’t have but not enough to offset the passing advantage. Stetson is looking good because no one is coming near him on defense for pressure and the TEs have a huge catch radius. I wouldn’t want JT to go into the SEC Championship and playoffs without game reps before. Even if he only plays a half each game.
Yea I should have prefaced that by saying let him get reps when the game is already in control in case you need more of a passing threat in the playoffs. But I don’t think he is needed to beat any sec team including Bama.
I cant think of any big name guys they are in on plus most LA guys would go to LSU regardless of coach
with the early signing period its nearly impossible to salvage, but they will be on same timeline regardless. Hire during the SECCG weekend or soon after. 2ish weeks to host recruits. They January period. The portal shopping.
After Florida loses to Georgia in two weeks, Mullen will be 2-7 in his last 9 games against P5 competition, with wins against Vandy and UT. Woof.
I think we need him against Bama. If it’s Stetson then I think the game is close to a pick ‘em. If it’s JT then it’s a 7 point gap. We can win either way but make a couple of mistakes with Stet as the QB then we might lose and have to play them again in the playoff final. While it would be very satisfying to beat Bama in the BCS Final to get the monkey off our back that is not the ideal way to go (especially since it means we don’t get an SEC Title as well). I was actually cheering for both Bama and UGA to be 12-0 into the SEC Title but since that is out of the way, one game is enough against them this year.
The Kentucky 247 guy I follow on Twitter said UK had 7 drops. Amazingly, even with 7 drops, Levis was still 32-42 with the #2 WR out for the game.
What you don’t understand about 7D chess is that this letdown game against lsu is all a teaching moment for the inevitable rise of GatorMullen.
That airbnb you posted is a pretty good location for proximity to downtown. It's a little less than a mile to most restaurants/bars/toomers corner(edge of campus).
He had 192 yards on 32 completions its not like he was throwing it all over the field, he was throwing screens and dumps for a high completion %. Wandale Robinson had 12 catches for 39 yards.
Their dump passes was their running game because they couldn’t run the ball on us. 6 yards a pass is very meh
With how good offenses are now, because of/and with the rules that limit defenses now days, is this UGA defense the best cfb defense ever or is it just kind of a down year for offenses around the league this year?
Looking forward to seeing Bryce Young or Matt Corral against them. Sucks we have to wait another 7 weeks to see it.
2 possible explanations: 1) LSU admins are the dumbest motherfuckers to ever walk the earth. 2) LSU admins would be implicated by anything Orgeron did, and are paying him $17 million for the NDA.
So LSU is treating it like a retirement? What's going to happen when he becomes the DL Coach at Ole Miss? Will he really come back for an appearance?
