Looking back at Wisconsin's season. They started 1-3, guess that's why I wasn't paying attention. Looks like they got it rolling from there. Also when I googled Wisconsin 2021 season the first thing that popped up was deer season
SBJ Sources: Look for Big Ten to let ESPN’s exclusive window end without a deal ESPN has entered an exclusive negotiating window with the Big Ten to renew its rights deal. Multiple sources expect the conference to allow ESPN’s exclusive window to end so that it can take its rights to the open market. It’s not clear exactly when the exclusive window ends, but sources expect the Big Ten to secure new TV deals before the fall semester. The reason: several other networks have expressed their interest in taking the Big Ten’s rights from ESPN. Interest from CBS, Fox and NBC virtually ensures that the conference will see a hefty increase from the $440 million that ESPN and Fox pay each year. It’s the same premise as buying a house -- prices go up when you have multiple bidders. Just because the Big Ten is almost certain to let its exclusive window with ESPN end without a deal doesn’t mean that the conference will leave Bristol. ESPN expects to make a big push to keep conference rights to football and men’s basketball games. Fox, which owns about half of Big Ten Network, has made it known that it wants to wind up with a bigger deal. Thanks primarily to its Big Ten deal, Fox’s noon Saturday window was the most viewed in college football this past season. CBS and NBC also will be aggressive in trying to get Big Ten rights. By aggressive, I mean that it looks like they will come to the conference with lots of cash. CBS wants high-quality college football games to replace the SEC, which is leaving CBS after the 2023 season, and NBC is salivating over the prospects of fall Saturday doubleheaders with Notre Dame games leading into Big Ten ones.
I don’t see the B1G leaving Fox, and as hard as it is to see leaving ESPN, I do think CBS is going to throw a shit ton of money to land the conference. I can survive in a world where the biggest games are at noon and 3:30, but man I don’t want to deal with Danielson again. I guess in summary, avoid NBC and Peacock like a plague.
I like the CBS team and I also love the 3:30 time slot. I'll miss the 1 whiteout game at night but would be happy with a FOX/CBS split. I imagine some schools will push hard to keep a night slot presence so who knows what it may look like. FOX just had the best CFB ratings of the season in the noon window so they aren't going anywhere from that.
I doubt night games are going anywhere. I think CBS is limited on night games because of the SEC’s deal with ESPN. I don’t think getting one night game per season is by choice.
Danielson is 70 now and will be close to mid-70s whenever this would start. I'm not sure he ever does a B1G game if a deal with CBS happens. Nessler (who is 65) too, for that matter.
I like him. Still remembering the way he broke down those Garcia plays vs Bama in 2010. I guess Gamecock fans haven't seen as much CBS as some other schools, hardy har har
Now that UGA has won a national championship, I am so much more knowledgeable on all things football. Don't get mad at me, I don't make the rules.
As a dad with 3 boys playing multiple sports each in the fall, hopefully the night games don’t go anywhere.
Danielson used to be good. He could often tell you what play was going to be run before the snap but I can't stand him now. He makes so many judgement calls that are just clearly wrong.
This is what always stood out to me as well. And he didn't do it quite as obtrusively as Tony Romo. It was a little more like an "ah" pre-snap. Then as soon as the play ends he's got the telestrator showing you exactly where the tackle went
That was some good work week 1. Dabo's britches dropped about 5 sizes. Now they are living in secret fear of Kirby that they try to play off
Danielson will too often seem to favor one team and it's often the favorite. I mean just have some sense of fairness??
Bill C has his first division preview out. It’s good, but man it makes me miss his SBN team previews.
they're CHAMPS. can't you read their thread title? to suggest otherwise is purely a ludicrous and laughable suggestion that is not at all tied to the insecurity resulting from even temporarily losing the one good thing that your state has going for it.
Someone said turn the thread title to champs and I did. I did not know it would send the Alabama fanbase reeling
I know I haven't seen as much championship football as all of you, so I'll defer to your judgment. But if you don't win it all next year, are you still digging in your heels? Are we approaching Champs for Life territory?
pssh, me and Redav were like "hey, I bet we can rile these sumbitches up" here's me and Redav laughing about it. he's just out of frame
Y’all stop talking about my second team. We won the SEC last year. Champs baby. I know that Is hard for Dawgs to read
I could see the Big Ten splitting it three ways, and going to regular Thursday and Friday night games like the NFL does with Thursday, Sunday and Monday. Not sure if the NFL TV contracts prohibit the networks from airing P5 games on Thursday. The old ones did. If a network partners with the NFL on Sunday or Monday, they aren’t allowed to air anything else even if they don’t have the Thur, Sunday or Monday night game.
