Is the talk of replacing Mazepin because he's Russian/his dad is a scumbag or is there something else to it
the only reason he is on the team is because his dad is their primary sponsor. if haas stops taking his dads money/his dad can't get them money, then there is no point to him being in f1 as he is the worst driver i've ever seen and it's not particularly close.
to be fair it was great comedy during his first few races when he couldn't go more than a couple of laps without crashing.
I'm guessing Fittipaldi would be first because he is already fitted for the car, so he could pick right up and test. It wouldn't end with him getting the seat full time.
He is not better. He’s pretty terrible. Mazepin had 2 wins and 6 podiums in F2 in 2020. Fittipaldi hasnt worn a professional race since 2017. But he makes sense because he’s been their test/reserve driver for the last 2 seasons
Interesting stuff from Leclerc. Really excited for more close racing this year. Especially if Ferrari are now in the mix with RB and Mercedes.
Well I'll be... That's the biggest livery improvement from last year to this year for any team. Damn fine looking car. Love the wheels if for no other reason they're unique from everyone else.
Maz has removed “F1 driver for @Haasf1” from his Insta bio. My guess is they’ll go Gio as this is a real chance to have two F1 worthy drivers. Fitopali seems like a good kid, and maybe a good driver, but Gio might give you more opportunities to get sponsors too.
Pietro is probably going to be the guy because it cost money to get drivers out of contracts and into your car. Given they lost its financial provider I can’t see Haas going down that route. Got to hope that Pietro keeps the car on the road and he’s able to help develop the car for 2023
The question becomes how much more would it cost for a more seasoned driver? My guess it Fit would also be due more money to no longer be the reserve driver too. It’d make sense for it to be a Ferrari guy, but I wonder if they’d push to put someone young in the car instead of Gio. Although I think he’d likely be their best bet if the car is good based off his second half last year.

Judging by the further worldwide response, especially sports related, I think it's probably 100% certainty that Mazespin is gone.
Haas seems to be cash strapped. Ferrari could push for a young driver like Illiot but its likely it was be a one year and done thing. Also seems like Ferrari's project at the moment is Mick. With that said Haas is going to need full sponsor ship deal so whoever is spending the money will probably want a driver in that seat. Pietro checks all the boxes imho for what is to come at Haas.
This is a really good summary of the season. For those that came on recently, you will see how Lewis and Max were the best drivers by a mile and that both benefitted from fortune and misfortune. Part of it is because they both drive balls to the wall and put the stewards in a really tough spot. That's also what makes them great. You will also see how safety cars and wrecks benefitted and screwed over both at times during the season. So much emphasis is put on the last race but there were probably half a dozen races with controversy that helped decide the season.

Can someone fill me in on the relationship between the Mazepin family and Putin? Because I find this to be fucking stupid and nothing but virtual signaling at its worse. I get him getting the boot from driving for Hass given daddy's money is no longer available to sponsor the team and thus your seat no longer paid for. Add in he's a shitty driver in comparison to the guys on the grid and those waiting for a chance. This seems like "well he's Russian so gtfo" and where does that stop? Are they going to kick all Russian people of out England?

Honestly, as much as it sucks for the individuals involved, I really don’t care that Russian athletes are getting banned. Many of them are Putin’s boys anyway, so until he’s gone. I think banning athletes helps send a message back home that might get through the Russian propaganda machine that maybe they’re in the wrong here and putin’s gotta go.
