Pre-contracts can only happen if the player's contract is expiring in the Summer. Haaland just has a release clause becoming active. So no. I guess a team could do something like Liverpool did with Naby Keita, and pay over the release clause to secure him early. But Riola wants a bidding war for both his cut and Haaland's contract.

It would be fun, all things being equal, if he had an expiring contract and it was just a salary bidding war for a can’t miss generational striker. Think a no salary cap league where Michael Jordan hit the market at the age of 21, with pro experience already.
