I'm not expecting any QB's to come off the board until the 20th pick. Receivers are going to fast and early because a lot of the other positions are lacking in first round talent. Jets should go with Gardner. I don't see any great #1 corner candidates after him. Such a yawner corner class. I'm feeling that 1 RB is taken in the first round. Breece Hall and Buffalo feels like a good fit. Would be surprised if the Chiefs end up picking at 29 or 30. Smart play would be to move up in the 20s for someone and use pick 30 to move down to help recoup what they spent to move up. 2 to 4 QB's go in Round 1. Malik Willis to the Steelers, Lions take best available at 32 unless other teams move up to 30 and 31 to take the best of what's left. Seahawks, Falcons will be in that mix. Possibly Saints if they pass on QB with the first 2 picks. Darkhorse to take a QB: Tennessee There will be at least one pick that will go far too early. Happens every year. Come on down Wan'Dale Robinson! Every single guess in this post will be wrong.
Normally I would too but this class kinda blows. I'd take a sure talent and utilize the 5th year option and some tags to get his best years without ever having to commit to a long term deal.
Nakobe Dean falling out of the first round is mind blowing to me. If he does and doesn't go in the first 3-4 picks of round 2, I'll be praying the Browns move up from 44 to get him.
His worst trait is finishing plays. He’s tremendous creating pressure, against the run, and never takes plays off, almost to a fault.
saints drafted a bad punter in the first not even all that long ago in russel erxleben, so anything can happen. But honestly think a 3rd would be hella early still for a punter
As a Dawgs fan, any GM who drafts Quay over Dean should be shot into the sun. I don't care if Quay is 5 inches taller or about arm length. That is just a stupid fucking decision.
Especially since linebacking and secondary is becoming more blurred. Yeah, you need a couple legit CBs outside, but the middle of the field is a new world of coverage.
If the Falcons go WR at 8, that's who I'm now hoping they draft. Note: I do not want the Falcons drafting a WR at 8.
They’re a tough spot to figure out, I just figured it’d be fun to position whoever they draft at QB next year with some elite tier weapons.
10th… I think he can be a good starter in the NFL. I have no idea. I believe most mocks won’t be very accurate. So much smoke and such… I normally do one with Soup but he’s not very in tune with the draft this year.
The most brilliant part of the Buffalo resurgence is now running the Giants* *I may change this opinion around 9pm tonight
i always forget... whos the twitter follow who always has the picks a good ~10 minutes before they're announced on TV? I follow him during the draft and then unfollow after its done. can't remember his name for the life of me.
seems like they are either taking a WR, CB, or RB. I lean CB. I think the Breece Hall smoke is a diversion. Beane wouldn't leak that if he was gonna take him.
Bob McGinn: Spoiler Aidan Hutchinson might not be the first pick in the NFL draft on Thursday night. He might not be the second, third, fourth or fifth choice, either, in one of the most mysterious drafts in years. But the Jaguars, who own the first selection, and the Lions, who are at No. 2, as well the other teams situated near the top of the draft should know that Hutchinson was the consensus choice of football executives across the league. In the last month, 19 personnel people were asked to name the best player in the draft regardless of position. Here were the vote totals: BEST PLAYER IN THE DRAFT 10 – Aidan Hutchinson, Edge, Michigan. 4 – Evan Neal, T, Alabama. 3 – Ickey Ekwonu, T, North Carolina State. 1 – Ahmad Gardner, CB, Cincinnati; Kayvon Thibodeaux, Edge, Oregon. Those same 19 evaluators then were asked to name their favorite player in the draft. That is, what one player did they most love to watch live, evaluate on tape or interview this year? Here were the vote totals: FAVORITE PLAYER TO SCOUT IN THE DRAFT 3 – Aidan Hutchinson, Edge, Michigan. 2 – Nakobe Dean, LB, Georgia; Skyy Moore, WR, Western Michigan; Travon Walker, Edge, Georgia. 1 – Lewis Cine, S, Georgia; Luke Goedeke, G, Central Michigan; Kyle Hamilton, S, Notre Dame; Dax Hill, S, Michigan; George Karlaftis, Edge, Purdue; Devin Lloyd, LB, Utah; Trey McBride, TE, Colorado State; Jalen Pitre, S, Baylor; Jameson Williams, WR, Alabama; Malik Willis, QB, Liberty. “For me, he’s a pretty easy pick,” said an AFC executive. “Very good football player with all the intangible factors. Very safe, very clean, intelligence, work ethic. All the things you want and that make you feel good.” Last year, in my similar poll for The Athletic, tight end Kyle Pitts of Florida emerged as the winner in both categories. In 2020, defensive end Chase Young of Ohio State outpolled quarterback Joe Burrow of LSU, 13-4, but didn’t receive a single vote as the favorite player. Burrow won the favorite vote by a 7-3 margin over his teammate at LSU, running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire. “That’s sort of the issue, isn’t it?” another AFC personnel said when asked for his best player choice. “I don’t know. Hutchinson, I guess. Favorite? I’d give you Hutchinson there, too. There’s nothing wrong with him. He shows up every game. Good family background. Kind of a fun guy to be around.” Some of Hutchinson’s supporters felt compelled to choose him almost out of default in a draft they framed as thin at the top. “He’s just like that Alabama corner (Patrick Surtain) last year who was the safest pick in the whole draft,” another AFC scout said. “He’s from a great family. He’s strong, hard worker, he’ll be a captain. But compare him to DeMarcus Ware, the kid at Cleveland (Myles Garrett), Charles Haley, the elite pass rushers? He’s not in that league.” Since 1956, the first time a player officially was listed with his defensive position, a total of 19 players on defense have been the No. 1 overall choice in the draft. This includes the AFL drafts from 1961-’66. Of those 19 players, three are enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame: defensive end Buck Buchanan (1963), defensive end Lee Roy Selmon (1976) and defensive end Bruce Smith (1985). Among the busts were defensive back Gary Glick (1956), defensive end Walt Patulski (1972), defensive tackle Kenneth Sims (1982), outside linebacker Aundray Bruce (1988), defensive tackle Steve Emtman (1992) and defensive end Courtney Brown (2000).
I think arm length is very high on the list of what teams are looking for with off ball linebackers. I know that the Staley defenses which so many teams are copying these days especially. I think most teams are generally opposed to drafting off ball lb's early but if they do they may only look at guys with big traits. I don't think it's a position where you look at college production as correlating to the pros.
These are more meme-like comments than if someone tried. The only white guy in the first half of the draft is "safe, clean, hard working, from a great family, a captain, and intelligent" huh
If he slips to #3, either the Texans will grab him or someone like the Giants will trade up to get him.
he has this weird schtick/troll where he pretends horrible giants qb (danny, late career eli) are actually good i dont get it
