Haaland gets his share of assists but his overall passing stats are amongst the worst of any striker. Pep needs to adapt to Haaland more-so than Haaland adapting to Pep.
Not to mention the surplus of players they already had in positions Grealish can play. Kane or Benzema would easily be 20 goals/ 10 assists every season in Pep’s system.
on the flip side, when Kane likes to drop deep and play guys in, isn’t that the same space that KDB is going to be wanting to occupy?
Both players are amongst the best in the game when it comes to their positioning. I think they’d quickly get a feel for each other. I imagine KDB would be able to put up the kind of numbers he did from his Wolfsburg days if those two clicked.
It is, but that style of play came about through our inability to replace Eriksen and have proper service for Kane. He wouldn’t have to worry about service at City, so I think he’d be happy to operate as much more of a true 9.
44 combined assists and goals was his best year for Wolfsburg. 5 more than the season you’re claiming. Its not like he was surrounded with world class talent there either like he is now.
Not surprised that a City fan only cares about League stats. They only play 34 league matches in Germany as well.
Fair point about the number of matches. Let’s look at it another way. He played 4551 minutes that season for Wolfsburg so a goal or assist every 103 minutes. 3826 for City in 19/20, or one every 98 minutes
180 of those minutes were of him getting owned by the mighty Toffees so it’s a bit harsh to count those against him.
I think this means that Aston Villa is paying Barcelona some money, and Barcelona is going to have to pay that money to Phil somewhere along the line.
I can't figure Barcelona's finances or plan out. Obviously, Ralphina for £25m would be a hell of signing. But is the plan to sell Frenkie de Jong in order to buy a 33 year old Lewandowski on a 3 year deal with what I assume are enormous wages? Their whole squad is just guys under 23 who are good and players past their prime except Frenkie de Jong.
I had to do a double check but i'm pretty sure on that reflection there is a gun pressed to Mbappe's back. Totally normal stuff...
I don't believe anyone ever said that the argument was whether it was better to spend the money to guarantee the transfer last summer or wait and put up with 9 months of insane PSG offers and fuckery and try to sign him for free
Either way, he’s signing on a free, like he was always going to do, so he gets to pocket the cool €100mil signing bonus.
