I'm not falling back on anything. I'm saying that he has never had a consistent run of play to deem him incapable of "Chelsea's level"
Mason Mount: 24 goals, 16 assists in 107 Chelsea matches(G/A in 37% of matches) Christian Pulisic: 19 goals, 12 assists in 76 Chelsea matches(G/A in 40% of matches) Why is Mount Chelsea's level, but Puli isn't? Jorts
BTW it's okay that it's not his level. I'm not knocking him, or doing an anti USA schtick. I've had sidebar conversations with SugarShaun about him. He's good. He's really good actually. He can be very dynamic - me saying otherwise in the past was merely me playing to your expectations of me & US players I have always questioned his ability to maintain fitness & if Chelsea/EPL was the right move for him due to the physically & demands. I think a move back to German or to Spain would suit him & he could flourish. I also think Newcastle might be a great move for all parties.
Skeptical He's obviously had some injury problems, but when he gets to actually play, he produces just as much as anyone in that Chelsea lineup since Tuchel took over. I am just fine with him leaving Chelsea, and think he 100% should, I just don't think the issue is him not being at their "level"
Being fit & available to play is a huge part of being a professional. Mount has been available to play nearly an entire EPL season more, over the same period of time. That matters. Christian has proven an inability to cope. He'd be way more valuable, if he didn't need to be wrapped in Kleenex
As a USA fan, my ranking for rumored loan spots: - Milan - Newcastle - Juventus - Manchester United - Atletico Madrid
Not being able to stay fit is different from not being at a team’s level. No one would say that Robin van Persie wasn’t at Arsenal’s level pre-2010. That said, I don’t know if he’s at the level that Chelsea aspires to, although he’s probably at the leve that they actually are right now.
Newcastle would be the most fun & offer an opportunity to prove my opinion that he's too soft for the EPL.
Tierney being unable to stay healthy for 1/2 of every season = him not being to Arsenals level. We can't count on him, so we bought someone. Fitness is the minimum requirement for any player. If you cannot make it to the pitch, you offer no value to the club.
Mo Salah and KDB weren’t good enough for Chelsea. I thought it was a dumb move by Pulisic to go there in the first place. No player younger than 25 should ever sign with Chelsea.
That was on Mo (I think), super dumb & not really the same scenario... I don't recall them being injured, but just mo not giving them opportunities.
Pulisic and darwin should form a pretty formidable front line in salt lake in 2025 agree that it’s ok that europe is not his level
IMO it's two different things. Being at someone's level, IMO, means your talent matches the team. Being unavailable due to injury has nothing to do with level(again, IMO)
I can't wait for you to tag me when he has a great 4-5 game run, before getting another injury & being out for 1/4 of the season.
In non Pulisic news Not sure I believe this, as the rumored asking price from Watford is 35, but I would love this signing if they can pull it off.
Even if I don’t agree with the point of not being able to stay fit = not at the level of the club, it’s something that Jorts has been consistent with his stance on And IMO 21-22 for Pulisic actually helps his argument. Playing fewer minutes, he had I believe his healthiest season yet and put up strong per 90 numbers
I honestly don’t care about Pulisic that much, I just thought it was a very poor argument on your behalf. I agree with the old cliche that availability is your best ability, but when he’s at his best it’s pretty clear he belongs at this level as showed in 2020. You also didn’t answer my question
I could be wrong, but think we are discussing/arguing semantics. I've conveyed he's talented & dynamic ~ that's not why Chelsea is potentially moving on from him His inability to be match-fit & inability to perform consistently at the levels mentioned above ~ Why he doesn't meet the requirements (replacing level) of a top club such as Chelsea
I bet the thought of moving from Spain to the north of England and playing alongside Fred has him already packing his bags
I’d bet a good amount of money Casameiro’s agent is putting all this out there to get him a raise with Madrid.
I’m not sure if I’ve seen a country dislike one of its own players as much as Brazil hated the striker Fred. You have to question the other Fred’s judgement for going with the same moniker.
It probably would have been better to float this prior to Madrid spending a fortune on his potential replacement.
I get that as a Newcastle fan it can seem like a video game where money is just an abstract concept that doesn’t really mean anything but that’s not the way in works.
All I said was this seems like agent games. Not sure why you’re spinning/defending so hard when I was trying to clown on his agent. And I don’t know what sport you follow, agents frequently play games to get their guys raises.
Even though he renewed last August, his contract is only until 2025. With his age and a lot of recent extensions going until 2027 I could see them trying to get something longer term
As a fan of a club whose had many a player sign an extension and end up wanting a transfer the next window or two, I don't put a lot of stock in contract extensions when gauging if a player is content or not.
