Cross Country success intimidates prospective candidates imo but seriously they are amazing and flagstaff is awesome
Not enough. Payson and Prescott have a lot of hiking I need to take advantage of. Prescott is really really nice from what I've experienced so far, more conservative but still cool they have a Trader Joe's I stop at when traveling back from PHX
Payson is cool, but Prescott is awesome. There’s an awesome whiskey store/sandwich shop in that area not far off of downtown.
Scalley leaving Utah would be a weird choice imo. Leonhard makes sense, but I don’t know if I was him that I would hitch my horse to that offense
I don't know why any coach with HC aspirations would agree to be DC for Riley, regardless of the $$ they might get in the short term.
Lured the guy away from his alma mater the week they are preparing for their biggest rival. Brutal for the Beavs
And unfortunately a chunk of their fanbase will hate it because Valenti on the radio was saying only Urban would move the needle and the weirdo twitter msu guy Spiro been selling them on getting Urban for months. Of realistic hires, I think he's probably one of best msu could have hoped for
It’s not right that a guy feels like he is forced to leave his alma mater for an evil university for the sake of his career. Not right.
The nuts that follow Spiro certainly, those that listen to Valenti not so much. Valenti was talking this week that it was going to be Smith or Elko and he would he happy with either although both had questions/concerns. The biggest ones with Smith being lack of Midwest connections and recruiting. At the end of the process though, seems like as good as they could have gotten which with how these things normally go will wind up bad 3-4 years from now. Curious who the staff is given he is a west coast lifer. Supposedly a big part of the interview and he seemed to have a good plan to integrate. Funds will be there but Tucker’s staff displayed prominently funds don’t equal success with Jay Johnson and Hazelton being paid the amounts they were.
Was with Paul Pasqualoni iirc who ended up being a consultant for us. Pasqualoni got elevated to an official job after Mullen/Grantham were canned yet according to writers worked hard the whole time to while others half assed it, hard not to respect him.
expected it. Pretty terrible that today was the last day that football matters, in what ever small way it did, at the university. Losing our awesome head coach along with the who knows how many transfers that will happen. College sports now will mean a lot less and I’m upset I don’t get to share it with my son. Like I don’t even know what’s going to happen to our baseball program, it’s something we are great at and now will be forced to team up with the Mountain West, where only 5 schools have a program. This year is just going to suck.
