I have no idea what we're going to do next season. Defense we should be solid bc Kirby but a lot of our guys are pretty young. On offense we have speed but people keep hyping up one of our receivers (Dillon Bell) and from my opinion as a old out of shape white guy who played one season of peewee, he seems like a solid possession receiver, nothing more.

Also re:QB I'm excited but I was also excited about Dwan Mathis and I'm pretty sure he's a WR now.

Teams like SCAR, Ark and Miss are on that "toughest schedules" list every year. Translation: somebody's gotta lose the games. Bama etc plays us, while we have to play Bama etc.

 

I'm sure it has nothing to do with teams like A&M or UF cropping into the top 5/10/15 after winning a game or two, which in turn makes other teams skyrocket once the natural order of things occurs.

Number 1 goal for Iowa AD is to fundraise and Barta was elite at it. The main reason he was able to stick around through all the scandals.

The best players are gone from a team that was pretty meh by elite CFB program standards. The coordinator hires are uninspiring. The QB room is not great. Saban looked old for the first time last year.

And has history of rebounding from subpar seasons pretty well.

 

That's fair. I think he's close to actually being done too but we'll see.

 

I grew up bama fan starting when we moved there in 92 and went to school there during the Shula years so I'm prepared for how bad it can get post Saban. Hopefully he's got a couple more runs left.

 

I'd probably retire to my lake house with occasional trips to the Ferrari dealership I'm a part owner of if I was him.

Has the cfb royalty name, largely a grumpy curmudgeon resistant to change that takes the podium to take moral high ground positions. A nemesis of sorts to Logan (Saban) but never really any threat. I could see it.

I see what you mean, but I think it plays. I don’t really know who else would fit the bill better.
