Very American of us to transport them offsite for an interview and fountain show that no one cared about only to transport them back to the paddock for the podium ceremony.
Yeah they borrowed it from horses and now it generally applies to a lot of racing series. Means the same as garage area. NASCAR and most other domestic US racing series generally don’t tend to adopt international terminology, so a lot of the terms you hear in F1 and IndyCar, like pace (speed), paddock (garage area), degradation (wear), box(pit), safety car (pace car) are new to US fans.
18/21, one round of the 22 was canceled due to extreme flooding in Italy. 23 scheduled in total, with next week being the finale.
Hoping lando is ok. I don’t think this is the top plan should he not be cleared, but Pato getting a full weekend would be very neat.
If you’re looking into f1tv, there’s usually a promo code floating around. I got it last year after Miami for half. Only thing I don’t like is there’s no PIP option so if you’re on your phone you’re stuck unless you can cast to another device
Watched a few laps before I crashed last night. I wanted Vegas to work because I thought the visuals would be great. But that was not that fun to watch at any point in the weekend Max is a psycho lunatic but he isn’t wrong with his criticisms
I will say the track layout absolutely delivered a fantastic race. Monza speed with even more passing ability.
What? There’s plenty to criticize about the weekend, but the race is not one of them. Different strategies, overtakes, high speed corners. It was a great Grand Prix
I just think the surface caused a lot of issues. Then mixing that with running it at night in the cold, I just didn’t enjoy most the weekend personally.
Yea I thought it was great. The Max penalty helped but we had 4-5 passes for the lead and good racing all over the track. I thought it was one of the best races of the year tbh.
There was a ton to complain about this weekend, but the actual race itself was not one of them. This was just as exciting as Silverstone and Singapore.
Also, my comment was more based on the week as a whole. Wasn’t meant as a criticism of the race, because as I noted, I didn’t watch the full race.
i'd argue it doesn't and was just a bunch of euro's not understanding americans and what they want to see, but i don't have focus group data.
Wrapped up watching the race just as football started today. Hell yeah! Need Lando to be ok. That radio message and video posted above wasn't fun to hear. Great race overall. The funnest part was Charles completely fucking up by out braking himself with 6 laps left to just give away 2nd place only to be outdone by Checo not even attempting to defend on the second to last turn and giving it back. It was 2 wildly mediocre drivers trying to see who could be more mediocre. Good stuff. Anyway....Max is inevitable. Too consistent. Too fast. Thought it was an interesting point that was shared on the telecast about him. He had wrapped up the drivers and team title long ago while in Brazil which was a race he also won. There's only 2 races left in the season. Vegas isn't for 2 weeks. As an insanely wealthy 26 yo worth with his own private jet what does he do with his week off? Heads back to Milton Keynes and grind hours and hours on the simulator to prepare even further. You have to imagine someone like Charles, for example, would probably be similar. You know...he's so frustrated with how things are going. He's had just the worst luck. That makes a guy hungry to do all he can to win again right?! Charles?
give me a champion who's naturally talented and well-adjusted socially, realizing there's more to life to experience. not some race nerd who jerks it to brake zone photos.
That was the exact race, save for maybe one last lap win push, that America needed. Just a bit of crash and mangled metal without really impacting the race. High speed straight and some of those passing corners paid way way off.
