That was pretty much the last few years with him on the Dodgers, played well but every game was a heart attack waiting to happen
That actually slipped my mind. Phrasing! More so his performances were very erratic but he'd usually close it out. I wish him nothing but the best health I love Kenley
I like Verlander to LA, mostly because we're getting too close to "Verlander goes into HOF with an Astros cap" territory. I still think he ends up back in Houston, though. Especially with the rumors of Crane negotiating these deals himself without a GM.
because I don't want the team to sign another guy coming off a CY Young, especially one who will be 40.
The 40 part I understand. I'm not sure sure what the Cy Young has to do with anything, unless you meant something else (like Tommy John?).
Imagine Judge's reaction when he hits that first line drive 300 feet to RF and it's in an out 40 feet in front of the track instead of a HR. He'd be so shook he might end up with 8 HR next year
Guess I no longer recognize Jon Garland, had to look him up. Crazy stat given where we are now. Former starting pitching in me misses those days, but these evil relievers in MLB now are clearly better than tired starters.
Manfred probably is putting a lid on everything for a bit to make sure the Hunter Renfroe trade gets enough time in the spotlight
He was worse than I realized last year. I knew he was bad in KC, but I thought he was better in Seattle.
That being said, I'd think some contender might take a shot on his power potential alone and hope that the shift ban improves his on base numbers.
I would say so you don't have to give up assets for him at the deadline, but it's the Pirates, so that isn't a concern.
