That win was about as big in terms of World Series win probability as winning game 1 of an ALCS would be
No one wants to win the al west imo. The Astros just lost back to back series against the A’s and Royals. Makes no sense.
I'm curious to see what kind of contract Jason Heyward gets next year. What an awesome turnaround for him. edit: The Cubs are paying 5 mil/year (deferred signing bonus) for seasons '24-'27.
Weird, team must of told the beat reporter to delete her tweet showing this play (she essentially called the ump a dumbass). A throw to 1st was going super wide and Abreu threw his glove to stop it from going into the outfield. Each runner is supposed to move up 2 bases but instead they moved the runner at 1st to 2nd and left the runner at 3rd. Just a bad f up by the crew.
How often are those retractable roofs even open? Especially in Florida. I assume you can build something with a roof that lets in natural light and isn’t a warehouse like the trop. Is it worth 100 mill plus for a few times a year? Also, I think some teams like Arizona and Milwaukee are running into major maintenance issues on them.
the baseball gods would have given him win 200 by now if he would simply stop making absolutely garbage music. he must repent for his sins
He's always hit it a long way when he hit it? He's hit 38+ dingers every year he's played 155+ games.
Talk about choosing a data point to prove your position. That’s a sample size of 3. I will admit I thought he was much older than 30 at this point and close to Saban warshed territory.
Choose your data point, he's basically the same guy he's always been. 30% k% but hits it a mile when he does hit it. It does feel like he's much older, I agree there.
The latter part was my thing, I assumed he was like 35 and “hanging on” after Chicago then Warshington. Kinda glad that’s not the case.
Cubs title year feels like 15 years ago. Last 3 years really felt like a decade. And he was only 23 during that run.
The fact our WS against them was right before the pandemic probably didn’t help my perception of time.
Baseball not using what tennis uses for fair/foul calls is just the most confusing thing I feel like I am taking crazy pills.
