Meh, they're still 2-3 consecutive bad coaching hires behind KU. Not sure what Leipold's ceiling is but it's nice not having the worst coach in the league anymore.
Yeah, he’s not going that route though. His camp also said he plans to visit 4-5 schools. Think there will be some resolution in the near future on him.
The Cam Spencer situation really sucks. He was basically the face of the program this off-season. Attended the B1G golf tournament with athletic brass, was representing Rutgers at local high schools for speaking engagements, etc. He had no intention of leaving RU, was working out all off-season at the facility. Goes home last weekend and just tells the staff hes leaving and enters the portal. Got a $90k-$100k offer from Georgetown he was all set to take, but then the blue blood came in and now I expect him to make $200k-$300k easily in an NIL deal. Purely a business decision
Yea, sounds like Georgetown tampered with him hard. We reached out after he hit the portal but our 247 guy says we are probably a couple schools down in the pecking order behind Georgetown and maybe Carolina.
McCullar going back to KU. Don’t follow close enough to know if that hurts them with anyone in the portal.
That's KU's last scholarship. There was a huge hole @ SF so they needed someone since missed on Mgbako. He adds continuity, experience, rebounding and defense. Can't shoot for shit but still fills a huge hole on the roster.
He basically confirmed he’d be back during the tourney. In one of his post game pressers he said “where else would I go” or something comparable to a question about where he’d be next year
Last time I saw or heard any convo on him was on the Eye on College Basketball podcast a few weeks ago. Norlander made it sound like he would be surprised if Timme came back. Of course a lot can change ect, but he didnt make it sound like it was a done deal, or even all that likely at the time.
Our 247 guy basically said to not get too invested in that one so doesn't sound like it unfortunately
Baye Fall is who rumblings are about. Everyone else has made it to campus now. Fall is a great rim protector but very raw offensively and isn’t going to see much run over Brazile, Holland (when we get him) and Makhi Mitchell in our front court. We are still waiting to hear on Jordan Walsh potentially returning and a Grant Nelson decision. We’ll see what happens, I think Auburn is working some back channels with Baye.
I’d imagine Nelson stays in the draft. He’s got too much upside. Walsh is a toss up IMO. He had a great showing though and showed a lot more than he did this year at Arkansas in the combined and workouts.
Walsh has dropped out of most mocks though so he’ll need a 2nd round guarantee. Haven’t seen much buzz on Nelson climbing boards either so we’ll see. Think he could use a year showcasing against high major talent to boost his stock.
would y’all have the minutes he would be wanting? I mean I would imagine you would make minutes somehow.
