I honestly don't but we were tagged so we'll take another "We were right" victory lap bc this is the internet.
Young’s production is head and shoulders above Richardson. But you can’t ignore the size limitations of Young. Richardson is the bigger project with the much higher upside. If we put both players in the perfect system at the next level I would take Richardson. Obviously that doesn’t always happen. Richardson my be the most athletic prospect at the position since Mike Vick. That’s a 1 of 1 talent you can’t teach.
I'm team Richardson in general as a top 5-10 pick. This is known. And to each their own in terms of who you like. But... 1. I think you underestimate Young's upside here. 2. I think you drastically underestimate the difference between the likely outcome of Young outside of "the perfect system" compared to Richardson in the same circumstance. If you're convinced that Young's size will preclude him from staying healthy and thus you just aren't going to bet on him, fine. But I can't go there with the rest once you start comparing skill sets and potential on-field outcomes beyond injury risk.
I think Young was a great college QB, but I don’t understand him being considered by a lot of draft guys a no brainer. His arm strength is probably just adequate and his size is legitimately unprecedented. None of that means he can’t be good, I just don’t understand a lot of draftniks talking about him like he’s low risk no brainer first QB.
His comp is Baker Mayfield. Imho… I’m guessing people will hate that. I believe I comped Stroud to Dak in the past and feel good about that one.
Team Bankz team. You all love asking for his board, then rip him for it. post your board, you cowards!
I think they are both day 3 picks. Hayes is probably a guy who kicks inside imho. Pretty good athlete and Michigan does a good job developing guys on the line. I think he can be a starter in the nfl. Skill guys in a Michigan offense are hard to properly scout because generally production is going to be low outside of RBs. With that said Schoonmaker tested really well. He’s probably a guy you take and try to develop and hope he can help on special teams.
Young is 4ft 8, 127 lbs and not near the athlete or QB that mediocre lilliputian Kyler was coming out. Any bum can look like a 1st rd QB prospect when you have the best OL in the country blocking for you, the best WRs in the country catching your passes, and the best RBs in the country taking the heat off the passing game. Look at Mac Jones!
damn, that’s a lot of hurt, Rise get this man a hug, he’s on a dark path, even more so than the usual ND fandom
So a few less than were at Stroud’s pro-day. Assuming the scouting guys went to OSU’s too to see Marvin Harrison Jr. I’m guessing they keep it up for AR on Monday too. Keep everyone in suspense. Even though it’s 90 percent gonna be CJ and 10 percent Bryce Young.
I have obvious concerns about his size. The quarterback part I have very few concerns about (at least compared to other 21 year olds coming out). How you ultimately weigh those two things compared to other QB prospects is going to inform how you rank them. I personally would rather bet on the skill set at that position than the measurables. I get why others would go the other way.
What kind of shit have you been smoking? I'd be disgusted if the titans took Levis or AR in the first round.
iirc he tested and measured nearly identical to Mark Andrews, I wouldn't say he bombed the combine. Everybody already knew he wasn't a freak athlete
I can't help the thin skin your fanbase has. The most dominant program of my generation and if someone is ranked 3rd and not 2nd the tears come a rolling.
It is like Christmas morning seeing the Big Board posted. Not sure why everyone is so mean-spirited. Team Bankz 'til I die. Even if he is wrong about (future Hall of Famer) Michael Mayer. Nobody is perfect, we will have a good laugh about it one day!
Oh I appreciate it and he knows I don't hate him. But I'm gonna have fun giving him shit when he's wrong about Bama players. He's been right on them too but he's definitely missed on some.
because every fan of every team that drafts a 1st round QB talks themselves into him being 'the guy' and you'd be no different. you'd see a couple of highlight packages of Levis and be sold.
you have no idea the self delusion I had to go through to convince myself trubisky was a good pick over Watson and Mahomes
Your head is so far up your own ass on this. I've been saying Levis was gonna get a front office fired for months. That shit isn't gonna change if the Titans draft him. Just admit you're talking out of your ass on this one buddy.
Bryce Young trying to game the system by weighing in at the combine then not working out and then today working out and not weighing in. Yikes
I'd love to know with all the workouts, random measurements, timed drills, and generally how specialized the pro days and combines have gotten if teams are actually any better at drafting players than they were 30 years ago.
Would love to see % to sticking in the NFL over the years on graph or something. Elite talent always harder to predict, but it seems more 1st rounders make an impact of some kind these days compared to the past. Maybe never do great or become a star, but good roster players. I could be way off though.
Lol what would you prefer the prototypical QB with great size, great arm, and great accuracy or the severely undersized QB with a weaker arm who may be able to scramble better.
Funny you don't mention Young's accuracy. Or that weaker arm makes every throw just fine. And I think having Stroud over Young is perfectly acceptable. Just find the need to downplay Young's strengths to talk up Stroud strange. But having AR over Young is just lazy trolling by Bankz
