As a Texans fan who had to sit through the Lovie finale to lose the #1 pick, I demand a thorough investigation!!! ;)
That was a great game but it's weird to frame it like you tune in any given Sunday and that's what you're going to see.
I remember hearing Nate Tice talk about it during his rookie season as well https://www.footballoutsiders.com/draft-film-room/2022/garrett-wilson-prospect-extremes Wilson is an exercise in beauty being in the eye of the beholder. On the one hand, Wilson is an explosive athlete with real-deal speed, good hands in space, and an eccentric route-running flavor that could be a nuisance for NFL cornerbacks. On the other hand, Wilson is more of a highlight package than someone who wins down after down, and his route-running flashiness is more of a fireworks show than a well-crafted approach. In total, Wilson's skill set is still generally received as a legit first-round talent because the potential payoff would be exceptional. Scouting the OSU standout for B/R, Nate Tice compared Wilson to Kansas City Chiefs wideout Mecole Hardman: "Wilson can consistently create yards out of nothing on underneath throws and on wide receiver screens. Overall, he is an exciting player with the ball in his hands who projects as an outside-only option that teams will love to dial up screens and designed runs for as well. His athleticism and hands will make him useful for NFL teams on Day 1, but he will need to continue to work on his route-running polish and ability to win against press coverage to ascend to more."
I think Nate Tice might be kind of dumb, Mecole Hardman has never come close to what Wilson did as a rookie with Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco throwing him the ball.
Are we actually taking an article that compares Garrett Wilson to Mecole “can’t shake Eli Apple” Hardman seriously? FOH
Seems like he's a bit of a freelancer who last year was very willing to show up his QB when things didn't go his way. And yes, Wilson sucks and maybe other WRs would have done the same, but he's going to have Rodgers making those gestures to him and I'm curious to see how it plays out. And there has always been a lot of disagreement on him as a route runner. It's why some thought he was clearly the top WR in his draft class while others were much lower on him. I don't know who is right or wrong on that, although his numbers from last year suggest he couldn't have been too bad at it.
Wilson is obviously way better but I read that stuff as being an evaluation of them as prospects. People get that stuff wrong all the time
its fun to think about but aint no way. if Saudis bought the xfl, offered insane guaranteed contracts, and swung a few stars, they could pressure the nfl into giving more guaranteed $$ in their contracts But nfl is not letting them walk through the front door and straight up buy the jags
Yes the nfl is well known for their great moral standing and would certainly maintain their moral superiority in the face of many billions
You'd have to know absolutely nothing about NFL owners to even remotely think they would allow that too. It's hilarious that person get's paid to write stuff like that
correct. https://larrybrownsports.com/football/brian-davis-7-billion-offer-commanders-saudi-arabia/614133
Now that Florio has brought it up and been told that he's stupid, we can pretty much guarantee at least one post per month from him about it until either it happens or he dies.
It'd be pretty funny if the owners approved that after they wouldn't allow Rush Limbaugh to own part of the Rams
Dov is just an aggregator so sometimes it is worthwhile as the info can’t be found elsewhere in a consumable package. Florio has turned into a goof
The only content I care to intake from Florio is legal/contractual breakdowns. And even then they’re others that provide that info.
