Would be interesting to see the 3 permanents for every team. I'm glad I don't have to do the juggling on that to make the numbers work
seems likely, doubt we care who the 3rd team is so long as its Florida and Auburn. And hopefully they move the auburn game back to November.
not really close. Played SCar about 75 times, about Tenn about 50 times. Kentucky and Vandy are our most common traditional SEC opponents after Auburn and Florida iirc.
The permanent teams in a 3+6 format should have a history and geography component to it. Florida having something like UGA, SCAR, and Oklahoma would suck for both OU and UF since those are difficult trips to make for both schools/fan bases. This proposal seems solid.
Whenever the 3 + 6 is officially announced, some of the greatest melts the internet has ever seen will be bestowed upon us.
My line of thinking is the SEC won’t try to saddle any team with 3 “elite” schools. Similar to us getting Miss State instead of LSU, I think UF would likely get UK as their 3rd permanent. Lot of history there.
They should really make a gameshow out of the permanent selection process. Each AD picks 3, any mismatches decided by Paul Finebaum
Tennessee's should be Bama, Vandy, and Kentucky. Rotating between Florida and Georgia every other year would be fun.
I think it'll suck if we don't retain Georgia. That's the closest thing we have to an actual rival in this conference. Keeping Tennessee would be nice too, but w/e
Auburn will somehow weasel out of Georgia being a permanent matchup - just like they did getting back-to-back home games in 12 and 13 and moving the game to September/early October.
Yep we got the aggies and mizzou into the conference just to work ourselves into back to back home games.
Oh fuck off our schedule is murder every year. Your schedule is soft as fuck compared to what we play annually. No Auburn fan likes having to play Bama and UGA on the road every other year. It was better for us when they were opposite of each other.
Ideally they can fix this and also move the game back to November We'll just all forget about 2018-2023 football seasons as not counting
Don't disagree. Annoying how our rank and file fans complain about it so much It hasn't stopped us from winning a Natty every decade since the 80s and multiple SECCG appearances each decade. Take care of ourselves and stop stepping on self planted landmines and we'll be fine.
Feel like any trio for Oklahoma that doesn't include Missouri and vice versa won't happen. They were in the same conference for decades and have played 96 times.
