simulated BCS. CFP will probably look very similar on Tuesday. One I'm most curious to see is were the committee drops Indiana to. #9 would suggest they are in with a win over Purdue
Honestly though, three loss Alabama deserves to be in over two loss Clemson. Common opponents, Georgia and SC. Clemson has no quality wins except a SC team Bama also beat, and got embarrassed by a Georgia team Bama beat.
Yeah but they didnt lose to vandy and one of the worst teams in their own conf Sooooo.....you're wrong, ed
I know they aren’t supposed to but the committee should artificially put Notre Dame at the 5 seed so Oregon/Ohio State part 3 doesn’t potentially happen til the end
Illinois having a 4th quarter clunker vs Minnesota from being able to manufacture a CFP argument is funny.
a variety of rankings and ratings and how they would seed the playoffs...mine would leave the BXII out all together lol
This is 48 hours late but nobody posted about it on this board (probably because Auburn was in 4OT at the time) but we were this close to the play of the year by Air Force. His foot was just on the line before the jump
Xavier Watts almost pulled the same thing vs Northern Illinois but his teammate didn’t realize what he was trying to do and let it drop. Sad panda
I would be disappointed playing Indiana. Not because I wouldn’t want to see them in the playoff or anything other than I’ve seen that matchup 10 times in person before. Given Franklin’s pussy scheduling behavior I don’t get to see anyone decent outside the B1G in Beaver Stadium. I know they said they wouldn’t change seeding to get different matchups but frankly I hope they kinda do if the seeding is close and I imagine they will.
who are the other 5? it's not Penn St (no 4Q lead vs OSU) or Indiana (Same reason). It's not Georgia (they never led in 4th vs Ole Miss) nor is it Texas (never led vs UGA). Miami never led in the 4th vs GT and it's not SMU as the didn't lead in the 4th vs BYU Oregon, Ohio St, Notre Dame are 3 of the other 5 (and 2 of the 5 losses). who are the last 2?
can't be, they have 3 losses. Pate said other 5 have 5 Ls combined. Oregon undefeated while OSU, ND, and Boise have 1 each. team has to be 9-2
I think ND is gonna be #4 1 Oregon 2 OSU 3 Texas 4 ND 5 Penn St then UGA, Tenn, Miami, SMU, and Indiana Boise still in 4 spot until a BXII Champ is crowned
I didn't think ND could be 4 because they're not a conference champ but I could be misremembering the way they do the seeding
Options: BYE Georgia/Tennessee winner at a neutral site or Arizona State at home Boise at a neutral site
counterpoint the 5 seed has to play 17 games in total to be champ. one more chance for injuries. one more non zero chance you could lose
Indiana has a better SOS and better loss than ND, SMU and Miami, but that loss came this week….so they can’t be ahead of those guys! The “system” is so dumb.
the approach to championship games loser is going to be the big pivot they should not punish the 13th data point, given its an accomplishment to play in that to start off with...but these ppl just always lack nuance and are addicted to the W-L ladder system thats plagued the sport since its inception. Like, if Ohio St loses the B1GCG, gets its 2nd loss, and falls below PSU then wtf are we ranking. And if they rightfully dont drop OSU from 5 to 6 or even 7 below Notre Dame...then it would be hard to not punish the B1GCG loser but then punish the SECCG or ACCG losers.
