I realize there’s way more nuance but it is kinda funny that everyone is paying players now and just like that, THE SEC isn’t so dominant. Weird eh?
You can bag all you want on the maga dipshits that run the state, support ND, love Holtz (including him), but I don't think it's the diss you want it to be because this group of ND fans will happily agree with you that they're all POSs. I don't say it enough but fuck Lou holtz
SEC rosters get poached at a higher rate than anyone else. It’s more of a product of no longer being able to horde talent than it is paying players.
I think part of it is culturally you guys are enticing purely on money which makes kids feel more like mercenaries. A lot of the teams up North - ND included - get kids to commit early and then are willing to pay market price once those kids blow up and others try to poach them late in the cycle. But ultimately, those kids wanted to be there before money became an issue and then you solved for the money after. A school like Texas A&M that starts their recruiting pitch with NIL figures will of course have more roster fluctuation. It was all about the money from the very start. And in NDs case, kids want to stay for at least 3 years for the degree.
Not really. All of the ND guys here are over that hypocritical wife beater. I’ve hated Holtz for decades. Of course the mouth breathers love him. He’s an ass.
Eh, I would say that’s one of many pieces that have eroded the SEC. I’d say since Saban is gone the top tier coaching has gone down as well. Bama had more five and four stars than anyone on their roster. I think I saw bamers posting their rosters as the reason for their confidence when playing Michigan in the rose last year. They probably still do.
These sour grape takes are so fucking stupid. "Statistically there were other teams that played well against a completely different schedule. Therefore, the playoff sucks." Yeah, determining a champion was way better when the top 2 teams in voted rankings played in opposite bowls and 18 voting services picked a champ.
Also, let’s be honest, roster poaching is something that was created by the SEC I believe. Could be wrong
If you don’t think kids who were pitched in the recruiting process on the Notre Dame degree, bought into that pitch, and are willing to live in fucking South Bend, IN during what many others consider what should be the most fun portion of your life actually care about finishing that degree, you’re dumber than I could have ever fathomed.
If anyone needs a ticket, Costco has the deal for you https://www.costco.com/.product.400...p_deeplink_25.1.1&TRACKING=NO&sh=true&nf=true
Come on dude, what 18 year old wouldn’t sign up for lake effect winters, stiff academics, almost no real social life and pasty skinny or chubby girls just to play football? You sound dumb.
Idk man I see a lot of players that left ND without a degree. 2024 Notre Dame Football Transfer Portal https://search.app/UE8p5LQdq8oaCsh79 You're creating a narrative you want to be true.
You’re fucking exhausting Hint: if it says senior they may have graduated. Please find me a single stat for any of those at their new school.
There's a lot of FR and SO on there I don't care about their stats or if they were good. I just laughed at the "oUr GuYs StAy FoR tHe DeGrEe" comment. Do some? Sure. All schools have some of those. ND may have a little more than most others but they aren't all that different from other programs with kids leaving. The idea that kids don't leave ND bc they stay for a degree is laughable.
I’m looking forward to him using Tyler Buchner and Drew Pyne as transfers out before their senior years. Two kids that literally came back to ND for the degree afterward
