I want to see Charles take pole and park that slow fucking Ferrari in front of Max the entire day... Only chance Ferrari has of a win this season.
I'd love for this + they employ the Checo red flag strategy to ensure Max can't steal the fastest lap from them at the end. I want anyone else to win other than Hamilton or Max this weekend.
I'm always team chaos when it comes to situations like this. I want anyone but Hamilton or Max* winning every race the rest of the season. The more different winners, the better. Fuck it, let's have Albon up there. *Though he doesn't win so he isn't in the same category as those two, fuck Stroll. I don't ever want him to win anything.
I got f1TV which in addition to all the cool content for the current season has archives of all races back to 1981 and then select races and season reviews from before that.
After a season of boring races I can’t wait for the Monaco Grand Prix this weekend. Should be exciting!
Catching up on FP2 now. Just heard them say 58 of 68 Monaco races wins have gone to the pole. The last driver to win outside the top 3 was 1996. I know there's not much passing but still those numbers are wild.
I knew of F1’s existence, but didn’t know much else about it (and still really don’t, but have been loosely following). I became more aware of it while living in Spain, because my host brother was obsessed with it. Went to Monaco for Christmas and I was floored by the fact that a fucking race runs through the place, because even at normal speeds, all of the roads are so curvy and narrow, and I’m accustomed to wide open American roads. This video fascinates me:
You can tell by those big inlets at the front of floor that the air flows through there. Adrian Newey taught me that.
Really tough spot for Checo bc he can't just drive through the field and finish 3rd like other tracks.
I honestly don't think I've ever seen a driver mess up a corner that badly. He was driving like it was a video game or something.
It’s an exaggerated gif obviously. I actually like Max, I’d just rather see him carve through the field every race.
One great thing about Monaco. Their cautions and red flags are always cleared up with the quickness compared to everywhere else. They have those damn cranes everywhere and seemingly 4x the amount of marshalls as anywhere else.
Combination of experience at Monaco and talent at this point in their careers leads to a pretty shocking split in Q1 between Albon (P3) and Sargent (P16)
