So he drifted into Checo. Glad we agree. Next time Sainz should just settle in behind Charles instead of opening a whole. He got greedy and took out Checo in the process.
This is the part I don't get. In situations like this, if you're on line and didn't *obviously* move over, if you're ahead, you get benefit of the doubt. I know RBR people are frustrated about life lately, but Checo fucked up here. He'd probably have gotten him elsewhere on the track if he had some patience.
If you're ahead you aren't greedy. I know you're new to this, but if you look at this scenario in 1990s replays, etc., commentators would've said this, too. It's basic racing.
I was referring to him trying to pass Charles with the greedy comment. When he passed Perez, he should have just filed in behind Charles.
It definitely changed things. He went super wide on the outside of Charles and opened a whole on the inside for Checo to go for. If he just passed Checo and played follow the leader with Charles there's no hole.
100%. It’s probably in development at all factory’s as we speak. Probably the beginning of the end for that team being a factory team. The trailing driver always needs to be the one who isn’t causing the accident. You can’t just dive bomb corners (unless your Max) and you have to be aware of the racing line and if your trailing you need to move further left (in this case) or backout. Im not even upset about it, it’s a racing accident. I get what Checo wanted to do… he was hoping to pick up the tow of Charls offline to go along with the drs and drag race Carlos for the pass. I just don’t think he noticed the Ferrari staying on the racing line till it was to late and he should’ve accounted for that since it’s the space entitled to Carlos. It’s only a big deal because of Checo’s reaction on radio, that he then put hands on Carlos and then the dramatics that is Horner and redbull post race.
I don’t think you understand that Carlos going wide didn’t open a hole. He’s still positioned on the racing line. Him going wide forced him to go slower and not get good traction coming off that corner. Checo choose to then go offline and try to drag race Sainz. Sainz is never off the racing line. He’s always entitled to the space he’s in. Both should’ve been more aware of the other. Sainz getting a bad exit from the corner probably didn’t think the redbull would be inside. And Checo probably thought he could force Sainz off the line. Neither happened. Sucks.
let me help you out… Notice the two Ferrari’s on the same racing line? Notice who isn’t on that racing line? You can’t be this stupid
There isn’t a realistic seat for 25, but possibly sometime in the next few years you’re going to see Herta, Palou, and O’Ward all with eyes on a F1 seat. Andretti getting an expansion team would probably guarantee Herta’s seat.
Checo called this out and no one listened. https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/1fi5ox6/christian_horner_reveals_first_mistake_made_in/
There’s a good discussion about them ignoring Checo bc Max is so good with “driving around” car problems. Checo complains but Max is still dominating so no need to listen to a driver who’s struggling.
i think any shot he had at keeping a seat was torpedoed this past weekend when so many rookies are coming in and earning points for teams that usually don't get them. it's shown that the old guard is on their way out i feel. why settle for 13th every race when lawson could potentially be the guy to push for 9th on some weekends. even if he doesn't its not like you were going to get much better from danny at this point.
It changes how you set up the car. What type of wing to use, it affects tire usage, just different variables.
My limited knowledge suggests this will not benefit the race. Just a DRS train around the circuit which will also prevent any willingness to split strategies by teams or drivers. Could be very boring.
I have no idea of this is legit. I’m going to pretend it is… he might be my favorite non Ferrari driver in the field.
I think it will be used for both tracks. Also saw somewhere that RB won't be doing its special livery because it would make them overweight.
catching up on Letterkenny and it just hit me that Pietro Fittipaldi looks exactly like Roald. carry on
All year, at every low downforce track. Saudi Arabia Baku Spain Monza Vegas Are tracks off the top of my brain that are low downforce tracks.
feel like george is campaigning hard for michellin tires to get the contract with f1 this session. honestly, with how much sliding is happening feel like he's got some points about pirelli being crap right now.
