are there cliffnotes on what sainz did? i was up watching the race and i guess i missed it but i thought he was simply faster than leclerc yesterday
Charles was faster They told Sainz not to push him and let him get his tires up to temp because he was faster, he ignored them
also, did sainz really not get penalized for crossing the white line when he was going to pit and then didn't?
In addition the telemetry shows that Sainz was coasting to keep giving Verstappen DRS so Charles couldn’t pass him until there were only a few laps left
I read a comment saying the rules state the white line can't be crossed for entering the pits, no rule against exiting the pit lane over the white line, though race directors can stipulate it further at a specific race weekend to include both like in Baku, however they hadn't for las vegas. Could be bs but would explain it if true.
Was my 1st race last year. Thread was active and a lot if fun. I started posting content trying to get engagement and I either post shit or most people here have me on ignore idk. This year has been awesome to follow
I hear you, I probably post as much as anyone in here. I’m hoping 2025 will be as competitive as expected and it’ll be very active
you are not on ignore. i think for most tweets, etc. people post, i just read them and go "hmm ok" and move on with my day vs. discussing further if it seems like everything has been pretty much fully explained in article. more interject when i want to understand something further or talk trash about a team.
the beginning and middle of the race last night just had so much going on i didnt feel i could break away to post things. my f1 chat with friends was also pretty dead even though we all were watching. probably everyone feeling that if they picked up phone to post something they'd miss an overtake.
Ehh he won the title in the first 10 races where he won 7 and did have the fastest car. Hell Checo had three 2nds and a 3rd in the first 5 races. Cars evened out after that but he already had a massive lead. Hope year is as even as the 2h of this year.
Last year a new novelty in Vegas so I think i stayed up. I'm old and I'm not staying up until 3am to watch a race now. I watched it this morning when I woke up.
respectfully disagree. i think if anything his performances in the latter half proved it was him, not the car, that won the title. he outdrove everyone in brazil, was a dick in some races but still strategically took norris down a few points in some others while keeping his car scoring points even if not winning, etc. i think it was much more impressive he won the championship this year given his performances defending the lead.
I actually would've gone to bed too if the college games didn't lead perfectly into it That's a late fuckin start
Coming over to interrupt his interview to say congrats. Hard to think of a more Zak brown thing to do
Vegas is a great track. It's fun that next year there are potentially 7 guys that could win the title.
Spent weekend at buddies house while visiting kids. We stayed up both nights. Both thought race was kinda boring. Haven't poked around yet, any news on what happened w Alpine and Williams?
So what can we expect out of a PU with 2-3 yrs of development? Or do we think they've been working on it pretty hard the past few years?
I think this may be his best world title win. It’s close with his first world title win but roles were reversed.
Most people think Ferrari will have an engine advantage to start the new regulations in large part because they chose a hybrid build of this current spec vs a total overhaul like everyone else did. Having the current spec Ferrari engine could also be helpful for development. Outside of that I don’t think anyone really knows who is holding what. I’m pumped they will be manufacturing an engine. This is amazing for F1.
I couldn't understand what he said the final 20 seconds or so before he apologized about his radio being on?
CL: I know I need to shut up but at one points it’s always the same, so… oh my f**king god. BB: OK. But, anyway, you did the right thing for the team. And pick up please. CL: Yeah yeah f**king pick up what the f**k we want… S**t, s**t, s**t, the radio is on. I’m sorry, that was on me.
......and I'm back!!!!! Really though, that's not why. Just haven't been able to be on or pay attention as much the last half of this season. This is phenomenal news though!!
Wasn't there a license hangup with Herta? Has he acquired the required license or is he on a path to get it?
I'd take Pato over New garden. Isn't herta kinda overrated? Didn't think he had accomplished that much. I acknowledge I don't know dick about Indy racing and only watched a couple of races
Herta plus Pato would be awesome but somewhat repetitive. I’m sure they’ll want a vet for the first year at least. So pumped for Caddy
Same - Blackwing build likely jumping to the top of the heap when I swap vehicles in 2025, in anticipation.
Is pato the reserve for mclaren currently though, or just talent they let test the cars from time to time? Wonder if they'd be cool letting him go to caddy like bortelleto.
So Cadillac/GM have to pay a 450 million dollar "anti dilution fee" bc the other teams will be getting less money now that it's being split 11 ways.
Cadillac fielding a team of just under qualified, American drivers would be such a beautiful disaster. I'm here for it
It seems there was an issue but he'd have 2025 to comply according to youtube I think he is w McLaren's IRL team and their reserve but I only remember him getting laps at Mexico
they should hire one real driver and then hire sargeant and just let him wreck albon and sainz all season
