“In reclassing, it's usually the parents taking the initiative to hold the child back. Schools and districts may vary on rules regarding whether or not administrators have to sign off on permitting a child to repeat a grade. But even when a principal has the right of refusal and doesn't allow reclassing, determined parents can take matters into their own hands and simply switch schools. Some have done just that.” https://www.parents.com/kids/educat...ssifying is the, skilled than their peer group. “Even if teachers, principals and guidance counselors don’t condone the retention of a student, it’s easy enough for parents to hold their child back. Transferring schools, withdrawing to be homeschooled or just demanding retention at the child’s current school are some of the options parents can take to retain their academically competent children, with or without the blessing of their teachers. In Ohio, a child’s retention is handled differently from district to district. In theory, if a parent can’t convince a school to retain their child, they could transfer to a neighboring district that allows parents to control the retention decision. In Kentucky, the decision to retain students is up to the school. But at a private school, enrollment, advancement and retention is completely in the hands of the school’s administration, like Stringer.” https://www.wcpo.com/news/insider/s...-holding-their-kids-back-in-6th-7th-8th-grade
Yeah, it generally doesn't work that way. Administrators have to submit data to their superintendents, with # of retentions being one of them. That's one of the numbers they want to keep as low as possible.
We had a kid that played with us growing up and just disappeared before our freshman year of HS and showed up the next year as a freshman. He got an FCS scholly and quit after 1 year. it’s not new, they talk about it in Varsity Blues
Why does it seem like 95% of the people who have their team’s record in their Twitter handle are the worst possible fans
Zaire Patterson can’t believe how jacked this guy is already. No I don’t expect anyone to know who I’m talking about but I’m still mad
Really dumb that his coaches are making him commit to a school when he not ready. It’s just setting the stage for him to be a flip come signing day
kid was always signing with you guys in the end anyway......unless you bomb this season and somehow win fewer games which seems impossible
Think our side believes whoever patterson commits to is going to be irrelevant. I guess his hs pressures kids to commit before or after the season, so this is more of an event than a real decision.
I think mario shut that shit down Do not believe he was willing to risk the late flip not materializing
do they pressure kids to commit or just tell them they can't focus on recruiting during the season? Pretty sure Edwin Joseph went into last season uncommitted
Yeap, in season recruiting wasn’t going to affect their season in anyway they are stacked and should blow out every in state school that play. So there is no legit reason to make kids commit when they haven’t even taken OV yet.
kid should tell em to eat shit regardless he seems like a kid that is locked in with miami I know a bunch of those broward kids play pop warner on the same team I bet most sign there in the end
Flipped on the St. Frances game for a minute. The ESPN guys start talking about how events like the Elite 11 and other rankings missed the boat on Van Buren, kind of humble brag about how high they have him ranked. Immediately throws a pick-6 to a DT.
Michigan was our biggest threat followed by Auburn what's up with y'alls recruiting bloggers blowing up all that smoke for fsu here?
Michigan people all believed that he was going to FSU up until the last 48 hours or so. I could see him possibly preferring Michigan to FSU or Miami, but he's not coming here over those schools with NIL situations the way they are on top of location.
all the paid site writers had it wrong, Miami ones included but they don't get any info from this cycle from the UM staff since DVD (defensive analyst last season) left. the few who have the real info on dade and broward kids have said Patterson has been a slight Miami lean the whole time but Mich and Auburn made it close the last month, FSU finished 4th and the smoke the past 10 days with them was never coming from Patterson but from the 247 writers and Bartow
We have a lot of playing time to offer at safety. I thought that plus NIL would be enough for one of Bolden or Patterson. I still think we've got a shot at Patterson if he's still going to keep taking visits, but flipping him from the hometown team is going to be a steep battle. We'll probably end up with a JUCO or transfer
The whole thing was weird. Our idiots thinking we got him and then several Miami beat writers writing essays on their sites with talking points about our depth chart (not a choreographed effort at all).
Pretty funny, talks about Ramsey as a host at FSU and Jimbo's recruiting pitch. All in about 1 minute.
