Let the Caleb Williams/Drake Maye sweepstakes begin! https://thedraftnetwork.com/way-too...etwork.com/way-too-early-2024-nfl-mock-draft/
I love Trask he’s such a great story and a good guy in general so Baker taking all those hits and sucking is fair game.
Oh and I misread the thread title but I have little to no regret about my original or subsequent posts
If Baker starts over him he needs to forget about ever being an NFL starter. How do you know he’s a good guy? Idk shit about him other than he didn’t have offers or something out of high school.
Your new GM proved he’s better than that. If you had the first two picks, the move would 100 percent be draft Caleb Williams and MHJ, and get the best offer you can for Kyler. Any time you can get a superior player, better teammate/leader for a cheaper price, you have to make that move.
How do Florida fans, the people that have followed his career for the last 6 years, know he's a good guy?
The Cardinals are held hostage by Kyler for the next few years. They could go 0-18 not take a QB. Whoever has the most draft capital next year that needs a QB (too lazy to look right now) will probably get their pick.
Has anyone actually analyzed these way too early mocks and see what percentage of guys actually go in the 1st round?
It’d like qanon at this point if you think every sexual assault allegation against Jameis was false. Trask is literally a quiet low key dude who by all accounts just works hard, not sure what else to say.

He had surgery before he arrived to Bama and lost a bunch of weight and then he had problems learning the defense. Imo Saban just threw him out there towards the end of the season and he played pretty damn well. edit: forgot to mention he got arrested after spring practice.
Wherever the former user known as Gibbons Gator is stewing mad somewhere that he is unable to be this thread starter
going the other way on this. saw this tweet thread before the draft and now i'm completely convinced that you should never draft TEs early (even though Bowers looks amazing, it's not like Pitts has been crazy good). i'll go CALEB! at #2 next year. i know he's the top prospect right now but i think he gets dinged for his height, the lincoln riley offense, and perhaps some more injury issues.
I disagree to a certain point because I think the role of TE is different than most other positions. It leads to a very flat value curve which means it's harder to be a boom or bust draft pick in that position I like Bowers more than any TE prospect ever, which just means we can debate if Vernon Davis was worth the #6 pick (I think he was) and if that translates into Bowers top 5
I think the problem with TE is that there aren't a ton of coordinators who know how to feature the position in a way that can maximize the production you can get from the more talented guys. And if you're not coming up with special shit to do with them, it's really hard to produce 1k yards and 10+ TDs just doing normal TE stuff within an offense because most plays aren't drawn up for them. And also, as those tweets say, the TEs who have been taken highly just haven't been as good as people thought. As a fan of the team that's taken half of the early TEs in the last decade, Ebron wasn't close to what he was billed to be as a receiver. And Hockenson doesn't have great hands and wasn't close to what he was billed to be as a blocker.
It's a coordinator thing and also the teams that are picking at the top of the draft have a ton of holes. Tight ends are more of a luxury I get it, I just think he's the best TE prospect ever
You have to be a Kelce/Gronk type guy with a really good OC for teams to draw up a lot of plays just for TE. That combination is pretty rare.
I will always disagree with the premise that you can't/shouldn't draft any of those positions in the first round. There's just a higher bar at those positions than others in order for those positions to be considered a success at those picks. If Robinson and Gibbs are both All-Pro level RBs over the next 4-5 years, no one is going to give a fuck where they were picked. Nor should they. But if they're just average starting RBs those picks were bad in a way that someone like Lukas Van Ness or Will McDonald becoming average DE isn't.
