Tua played 10 games in 2020. 13 in 2021. 13 in 2022. 17 in 2023. And 11 in 2024 can the Dolphins rely on him as their QB going forward? 1-8 vs the Bills too. Wow
Still waiting on the folks who hate Tua to give us reasonable options when once again... As we keep saying... Everyone fails at being able to competently run our offense consistently except Tua. Until a better option presents itself I really don't know what people want the Dolphins to do Dallas is in a similar situation with Dak.
Maybe it is because the Mickey Mouse offense Tua forces Miami to run because of his limited skill set holds the team back and other QBs can’t grasp it.
Feel like when you have Tua you need to be ready with an option like Malik Willis to get you through a few games.
I like the offense but isn't there a stat out there about how it's kind of bad when playing good teams?
Were I a Dolphins fan and still watched games I'd probably want a QB who could reasonably be expected to play a full season
Our oline and defense tend to be horrible against good teams due to lack of talent. Theres a reason we want the GM fired Also if Mina kimes and other NFL analysts that are paid to look at this doesn’t think it’s a shitty offense and loves McDaniel I’m gonna side with them over bro and his trolling I’m still waiting for someone to tell me who the dolphins should get or what they should do. No one wants to answer that question unless you think they should clean house and start over which is a different conversation that I’m not necessarily opposed to I keep saying that guys like cousins, Tua and dak and to a lesser extent Purdy get unfairly shit on by folks and I’m not sure why. They’re all good QBs and unless you can get an elite guy what are better options other than having a really good roster to cover their deficiencies which we don’t have
I think when tua plays he's fine, but im not sure you can trust that he can play a whole season. The issue with that group of qbs being "good" is they aren't elite, which by definition can't be everyone. So they will always get compared (unfairly probably) to the elite ones since there are only 32 starting ones every week.
He's a complete and utter shithead If he had his head on straight, could have a nice career. I'm not predicting it
Bills fans going 20 years with shit QBs and shit teams until Allen showed up and then immediately being weird and judgey about another team's average QB is one of the oddest things on here
they had that one year where they insisted tyrod taylor be benched for nathan peterman for some reason and then just pretended that never happened when tyrod made the playoffs iirc
That's where I'm at. Tua is fine, but the concussion and other injury situations just aren't really tenable in this league, unfortunately.
If we could figure out how to get out of the contract due to his injury and concussion issues that would be ideal but then what on earth do we do except tank for a qb next season
Yeah nothing to really do right now except hope some guy we like at QB falls far enough to maybe trade up for, which seems unlikely. Past that, its just wait out the clock until they can get out from that contract.
Honestly had Tua not come back and we ended up with sanders or Ward I would’ve been happy with that. I know people are down on those two but I trust McDaniel could absolutely maximize their abilities in the same way he has for Tua
It's the NFL, let's calm down with he's done. The only reason he could be done is he hasn't done shit, not that he committed an egregious crime
I think Tua is like league average or a little worse. Which to be fair is a hell of an impressive thing to be. Those weapons with a top 5-10 QB would have been insane the last couple years before Tyreek went off a cliff, which is why I think people hate on him
The Dolphins are in an unfortunate spot. Tua is good enough to win but not Josh Allen good and they just aren't built to win on the road in January.
Tua catches all the heat, but a huge factor in Miami's struggles vs good defenses and cold weather environments is the complete inability to line up and run up the middle early downs and 3rd/4th and shorts. We have possibly the worst LG/RG combo in the league among other issues. It just makes life so much harder when you don't even have the threat of the obvious play on 3rd and 2.
The Dolphins spending all that draft capital on the Hill and Waddle trades while ignoring their OL and then letting Wilkins walk is a good reminder half the league has no idea how to properly construct a team
Yeah I like Waddle a lot as a player, but Sewell was absolutely the pick there. The Chubb trade/extension was a killer. That move directly led to losing Hunt/Wilkins most likely. Could have kept at least 1 of them. The Ramsey trade was fine at the time, but the extension this offseason was unnecessary given our roster and cap situation. Same with Tyreek. Completely whiffed on a lot of 2nd-4th round picks. Yeah, lots of mistakes along the way. Really, they need to stop extending vets, get money off the books and build a new core. But that's not gonna happen with Grier on the hot seat. Gotta pray he gets fired.
Yeah. Might get bleaker if they keep Grier and he does a few more restructures and extensions with void years in a hail mary to save his job.
