Helluva pickup. No bs question you got anything how Rivers Kurland (our 2b Cade Kurland's brother) signed with yall but ended up a Gator? I know roster spots are tight did he get squeezed out?
yea that’s pretty disappointing. Hope we are able to replenish with the young guys and new comers but afraid this may be the start of us not having a conference really impacting our baseball program they way it has everything else.
Oh hell ya #Texas Longhorns #Ohio State Buckeyes #Baylor Bears #Mississippi Rebels #Coastal Carolina Chanticleers #UTSA Roadrunners
Yeah he got pushed out but also think it was somewhat mutual. Think yall had a spot open too so kinda mutual but fsu didn’t fight
They probably wanted to make the Ohioans feel like they still visited Myrtle for spring break! But seriously, we played arguably our worst game of the season against you guys in Jacksonville this year (with Flukey on the mound), so who knows what will happen. Spoiler Still won!
As a bandwagon OSU baseball fan, I remember being really excited for that game. It was like I was watching the 2006 OSU/Florida national championship game on steroids. Confirmed not fun.
Who could we potentially see in Omaha next year? Here's our 'Way Too Early' NCAA Top 25 for 2026.— Baseball America (@baseballamerica.com) 2025-07-23T18:30:09.371Z
Honestly not sure about roster spots but yeah I'm sure we can find a spot if he shows enough potential. Our lefty reliever Frank Menendez went in portal. He upped velocity to mid 90s and was set to be big part of our pen this past year but ended up needing TJ surgery. From what I've seen Miami is likely (south Florida kid) but who knows how long it'll take for him to be fully healthy and it's his junior year. Not gonna lie for the first time feels like Sully is having issues acquiring talent. I'll fully admit he's a prick but do wish he could sue that barstool prick for everything available.
Thought he did fine in the portal. Bastion is really good. Got that d2 pitcher, tcu catcher are solid. He didn’t land any big names like in years past but maybe that was a choice as only Tinney was a big name I saw linked to uf.
I mean fair enough but just in general our standard has fallen. If we don't at least host a regional in 2026 that'll be 3 years with nothing, we spent $65 million for the new stadium largely for regionals/supers.
CF3234 just curious know you're not really a baseball guy but have you seen anything about expectations for Menendez (draft eligible after 2026)? Based on proposed recovery time not sure when he'll be healthy enough to go. With that being said guy looked like a bullpen stalwart pre-injury hitting mid 90s as a lefty. https://www.on3.com/college/miami-h...signs-with-miami-out-of-ncaa-transfer-portal/
Everything I’ve read makes it seem like they’re hoping to have him going by April and will try to build him up heading into the post season
Was hitting mid 90s before injury and thought he’d be a stalwart pen guy. Makes sense would be a helluva option in postseason.
This is a general post piggybacking off previous stuff, for the first time since he's here I have legit questions about Sully's talent acquisition. I know 2026 class looks good for now but who knows. I presume yall have some level of baseball NIL but assuming less than UGA who (regardless of end results) has filled up on transfers who can hit. If those big money types are there they should show some flex. fastforwared to him vs Ok st regional 2023, post that he lost weight and was hitting mid 90s Spoiler move to 6:20 after we did our thing
Miami had a chance to get the wake coach 2 years ago for about 200k more than JD cost. They allocate some NIL to baseball. But not much.
Though the transfer portal can be seen as the "Wild West" for coaches, some programs have navigated it better than others. Here are the winners and losers of this year's college baseball transfer portal:— Baseball America (@baseballamerica.com) 2025-08-07T16:06:25.015Z
True, yeah I have no idea about us other than Hurston Waldrep for 2023 season, even a year later he would've ended up elsewhere. I hope we're not paying Blake Cyr much he's just another guy nothing special. I'd also imagine with JD the former player types wanted him. For above article let me guess Tennessee, Arkansas, and LSU were big winners in the portal.
Congrats to our #Texas Longhorns posters. I’ve worked with Lawson dad for over a decade and he offices next to me now, so have known the boys since they were kids and was hoping Lawson would end up at Rice. Take good care of him Tex!
4th guy from our 2023 team making it to the show in 2 years, genuinely wonder if that's happened before
Because I've had plenty and fuck it, good times dipshit Kirby McMullen. This totally isn't in bitterness of Miami kicking the shit outta us tonight.
We have 5 Gators in the show from 2023 team (lefty reliver Philip Abner newest one), entirely possible happened elsewhere within 2 years but just sucks we came up short in Omaha. If that hasn't happened I'm sure we'll see it with Tennessee or LSU teams.
