The potential is there for this to be a good season, there was more than enough drama they didn't need to make up any. But we know they will.
Year one was amazing because F1 had no idea how to PR it... They have learned and I haven't finished an entire season outside of S1
I'll still watch but their format is flawed idk went they don't go in order throughout the season. And they have to leave some juicy stuff out or they won't get as much access. I can't imagine how many people just watch DTS and not the races.
He was replaced at Mercedes by George Russell (who was racing with Williams at the time, but was signed to Mercedes). There really wasn't any other option for Bottas but to sign with a mid-field team.
Lots of Checo/Herta and Bottas/ Herta for caddy floating around. Moreso Checo. If we don’t get Bottas Indycar then that’s the next best thing.
I have some brand loyalty with both Red Bull and Ford, but I could be swayed by GM making all the right moves with racing and with their EVs. Big fan of Colton in IndyCar.
Will Buxton won’t be a full timer, which I love that for me on the IndyCar side, but that may impact the F1TV experience of some. I have faith that the existing crew outside of Will won’t miss a beat.
He picks favorites based on who will give him the most access and isn't very objective. It's lazy journalism
Dallara builds their imsa/wec hypercar and works with Haas F1. Curious if they’ll be involved with the new F1 program.
Atlassian sponsoring Williams after the story broke about them using spreadsheets for everything is one of the funniest storylines that’s never going to get proper recognition
I'm always curious if that's a good thing or not. Their niche seems to be below the top (aka F1) level. They've never had a winning F1 or sportscar chassis.
McLaren 2025 car was released today for their shakedown. The livery is a one off because teams aren't allowed to release it until the big F1 event later this month. This is a good thread about the changes people have seen so far.
Cadillac is apparently spending ~$80 million to build their F1 headquarters in Charlotte. https://amp.charlotteobserver.com/news/business/article300129754.html Hendrick Motorsports is also found something for like $70 million either in conjunction with it or right next door. Can’t figure out from the articles exactly what’s happening, but seems like some serious investment is being planned.
I don't follow soccer but I've seen the comparison w MBS and FIFA. I understand MBS got or gets his votes from shithole countries via bribes and kickbacks. How the fuck can F1, Liberty, Drivers' Association, et al fire that mother fucker?
Tomorrow is the big F1 reveal… I’m sure it will be a big flop as I don’t think these cars are going to change the paint scheme up to much and we probably going to have a ton of carbon fiber to help keep weight down.
On a somewhat related note- New Era getting involved has finally yielded some decent looking hats. I go for clean and simple, usually black if available, one small centered logo/patch type of hats. I can’t stand the sponsor-laden euro trash covered in patterns and piping that has been the standard as of late.
